first of all they decide the original price quoted was wrong and increase it. hmmm ok well we'll take it anyway.

then they say the washing machine won't be staying after all. hmmm kinda annoying but we have one anyway so no problem.

then less than a week before moving in tell you the fridge freezer and cooker won't be staying either

like seriously wtf

why don't they just remove the bath too!

I imagine you're no limp-wristed MUGG, won't be**over like this and will therefore be telling them to stick their accommodation up their arse, and good for you for doing that.

Sorry, didn't realize it was you, Canaryboy.

But it seems you haven't checked your email this morning. We had to make some changes to the bathroom suite.

No-one with any balls would take all that and still move in. Surely?

Do you have the original ad?

I would take him on. Once you have given the deposit, they can't make changes.

lol shape

and lol ken, no as we'd have nowhere to live

also i decided i'd let flatmate ring the letting agent back about it as they informed us on her behalf

i'd have been raging so much it could have got nasty

and seriously would it not even register that suddenly removing the cooker might be a problem when it was there on viewing and we were told everything was staying!

at least we can cover the other 2 appliances

people that put up with this sort of thing epitomise what is wrong with modern society. Wet pansies who would rather watch Gok Wan than stand up for themselves.

and who the **** lets a property without a cooker anyway

as if we or anyone else would have agreed to that

and unfurnished always has a cooker

letting agent has informed her she has to replace it, but if she's already removed the cooker to her new place, she hasn't got long

i can't rage that much about it because it's so mental

signed the contract a month ago and decides this a few days before we move in ffs

were we just going to happily agree with it and purchase all these new appliances in a few days?!

ok i'm raging now

well we're not putting up with it lol

the price increase was tiny and anyway the place is reasonable for what it is

and the washing machine and freezer doesn't bother me because we already have them here so not costing me anything. tho she doesn't know this

but the cooker just takes the ******* ****

she seemed really nice when we viewed the place too

fairly young and no sign at all of being pure evil

most landlords usually have the courtesy of waiting until tenants have moved in before ******* them over

a new technique in operation here i fancy

yeah letting agent are sorting it and can only deal with her through them i think

but telling her that they have to be replaced and getting it done are 2 different things altogether

and surely they should be replaced with identical items too

By:

When: 08 Dec 09 10:26

and seriously, people do not mess with me

and when they make the mistake of doing it, i win

tis why i get used by people to argue for them as in the end they have to back down

not a brag, just the way it is

Who is the other half of this 'we' you keep referring to ?

Is it Andy Murray ?

1. depends on how far you want to take the issue
2. as already mentioned find the original advert - misrepresentation 'a material false statement of fact that induces another to enter into a contract' - im fairly certain that adding all those elements together you could actually threaten to sue for misrep
3. check the terms of the lease you signed - does it say it is subject to change? what does it actually state full stop? furthermore even if it had a great big clause saying 'we can ** you about' it would still have to satisfy the test of being 'reasonable' at common law.
