26 cards and they would be 13 pairs, the 27 card would make one of the pairs a triple.

unless you are counting cards that default into higher ranking hands then you can have 40cards for 8 straight flushs and a further 10 cards comprising of 2 pairs with kickers so thats 50 cards?
