Used to go to (Duncan) Bannatyne's. Think it was £32 per month, off peak. Used to be Living Well. He took over and cancelled 'free' towels. ]:)

Used to do a bit of everything, mainly six-pack work. Never noticed I had a nice toned body till about last year, when after a year out I'd filled out a bit too far.
Report Partridge • December 7, 2009 7:45 PM GMT
£23 a month as paid in advance for 2 years, dont use swimming pool/tennis etc., gym is good tho
Report JOCI Club • December 7, 2009 8:13 PM GMT
I run quite a lot (lunchtimes in London) and weekends, and I have a rowing machine in the bedroom (did 30 mins after work tonight). Used to go to gym an awful lot years ago, when there was a free gym in our office, but now object to paying so much for such poor quality service.
Report Gary Binosh • December 7, 2009 8:38 PM GMT
£240 for the year at Total Fitness, great Gym

it was £480 pound a year but i joined on a promotional week where they were doing it half proce :D
Report d13phe • December 7, 2009 8:51 PM GMT
gary

where is your total fitness?
Report rogerthebutler • December 7, 2009 8:53 PM GMT
Yeah I go 2-3 times a week.

I compete in Indoor Rowing and have my own ergo at home, but use the gym for core stability training (stomach, back, obliques) flexibility and lats work
Report Gary Binosh • December 7, 2009 8:54 PM GMT
Its the Teesside Total Fitness

why ?
Report d13phe • December 7, 2009 8:55 PM GMT
i only ask because our total fitness (North West) is much more expensive than the prices you quote
Report ENGLANDAWAY • December 7, 2009 8:56 PM GMT

Report d13phe • December 7, 2009 8:58 PM GMT
south manchester

its about £60 a month, thats why i sacked it off
Report get in there gamsty! • December 7, 2009 9:00 PM GMT
i switch my routines around alot but currently in my home gym it'll be
Mon: 2 sessions. chest then triceps
Tue: 2 sessions. back then biceps
Wed: Pretty much a day off. Some core work and yoga
Thu: shoulders
Fri: legs
Sat & Sun: a static stretching session and core.

and 3 days a run on the beach first thing.

Anyone do similar?
Report Gary Binosh • December 7, 2009 9:03 PM GMT
d13phe

all i can think is, with it being a huge city it might be even bigger, ours works out to £40 a month or £20 a month for me :D

im guessing its a case of the London, Manchester etc will cost more than Teesside, Altricham etc
Report dk1986 • December 7, 2009 9:16 PM GMT
Think it's a competition thing. Bannatyne's has been unchallenged for years in Carlisle for offering an air-conditioned gym, with a steam room, sauna, TVs on the treadmills etc, so they've charged more than what I've seen them charge elsewhere. We've got a new gym coming next month (built to be a JJB gym ) which will challenge it amenities-wise, so maybe they'll drop the prices. Hope so. Need to get back into it before I look like a block of lard.
Report Gene Hackman • December 7, 2009 9:17 PM GMT

ALSO MY MAXIMUSCLE PROGAIN AND PROMAX SHAKES WORK WONDERS
Report get in there gamsty! • December 7, 2009 9:20 PM GMT
Maximuscle is very over priced, you must be doing well on here.
Report dk1986 • December 7, 2009 9:20 PM GMT
That's me as well Gary. I want to retain my trim (ish) figure for as long as I can. Men who look in shape and have a 'chiselled' face in their forties are doing all the middle-aged lady-boning. I must be in that club. :^0
Report da fallon factor • December 7, 2009 9:23 PM GMT
maximuscle around 45euros per tub
Report Gary Binosh • December 7, 2009 9:23 PM GMT
Im applying for my membership to that club, so must get into shape ;)
Report get in there gamsty! • December 7, 2009 9:27 PM GMT
If you look at total weight of the tub and conents you get more from your money at myprotein.com.
Can get you 5% off an order aswel. Fair play if your happy with it and it's working for you.
It's the equivelent of nike, many other brands equally as good and alot cheaper but they don't have the sporting celebs being paid a wad to say they use it.
