Report dk1986 • December 7, 2009 10:22 AM GMT
Only done two 14-hour shifts in my time. Both at time-and-a-half and with only one hour deducted for breaks. They're the only circumstances I'd do them under.

Did 16 hour shifts Mon-Fri, then an 8 hour Saturday and a 4 hour Sunday for a long while a few years ago, but the tight**ts at the Inland Revenue never even sent me a xmas card.

Summer 1998 - living in a tower block in Newham, east london
Winter 1998 - got our first house in Newham
Winter 2002- got our 2nd house in Newham
Spring 2005 - 4 bedroomed house in the country - mortgage free

When you gottta graft, you gotta graft, not sitting at a desk hitting a keyboard :)

(see the SPOT THE DIFFERENCE' thread)

It was worth it.
Report dk1986 • December 7, 2009 11:23 AM GMT
I like hitting the keyboard too much. :(

You did well Charlie. I don't know where the jobs are that let you put in big grafts. Don't think there are any where I live.

Find a dodgy boss who's as big a thief as you are, and show him how it's done properly. :^0

Why waste the best years of your life grafting all the hours god sends? Rather have free time in my 20's and 30's than 40's and beyond.
