The point is?.....
Usually found especially on council estates... why?...
I hope no chit chatters partake in such activities.

I reckon the house next door has about 1,500 on his roof and around the guttering, plus a lit-up Santa in the front garden.

I crashed my private jet last night as I mistook Pump's driveway for the third runway at Heathrow.

I have a small tree. It goes up Xmas eve for the 12 days of Xmas.
I do not buy cards and only 4 presents for immediate family.
Its a tradition not a bleeding lifestyle.

I think that people who light up their houses may be showing off, but they do brighten up other peoples days. They cheer me up, however i am in conflict about the wasted energy just like i am when at 3.00am i get stopped by traffic lights on a roundabout.

The blue ones are dangerous when driving as they can be mistaken for an emergency vehicle.

Almost as annoying as those idiot lorry drivers showing blue lights at the front of their cabs.
Report JUGADOR MEJOR • December 7, 2009 6:26 PM GMT
Health & Safety gone effing nuts!!!!!

If you are driving whilst looking at houses you shouldn't be on the road.
Report everythings gone green • December 7, 2009 6:31 PM GMT
If you see blue lights out of the corner of your eye while driving you instinctively look at them. I do anyway.
Report JUGADOR MEJOR • December 7, 2009 6:34 PM GMT
The only danger is that you slow down a bit!

Mountain out of a molehill springs to mind.

Blue lights were reserved for the emergency services until a couple of years ago.

Now the poxy things are everywhere.

Considering that 100's are getting involved with the climate question in Copenhagen and the fact that mankind is teetering on the brink of extinction, shouldn't the police go around to these houses and start nicking a few social deviants... I mean, it's gotta be illegal, all that carbon output.

what a bunch of miserable sods on here. My 5 year old daughter loves all the lights and glitz. Christmas is about their enjoyment not some sad fat slob sitting on the sofa eating bon bons and sticking a tenner on some rag at Southwell.

Agree Charwell,

Some right misery guts on here. I dont go overboard, but I have a few lights on the front of the house and a 6ft tree. Would have it no other way.

The people who stay at home and put lights on their house are doing less damage to the environment than those who choose to disppear abroad every xmas.
