I was 13 and remember it as the best year ever!

Euro96 was a magical time, the whole country was united. I remember where I watched every one of those games. I cried when we lost on the penalties to the Germans and everyone at school admitted they had done the same.

Olympics Atlanta 96 - great great games! I used to stay up to the early hours watching the athletics. Remember staying up until 3am for the 100m and then Christie got disqualified. Donovan Bailey won it and Michael Johnson murdered the oposition!

My team Manchester United won the double with the kids you couldn't win anything with!

Great great year!

1996, I was working in Milton Keynes for 6 weeks, and watched all the tourny there. Seems like yesterday. I was really upset the night we got eliminated, but went to Flamingo's down by the railway station and pulled a young chick, so it wasn't all that bad.

Couldn't agree more

I was 14, having the time of my life. Great year for music. Britpop at it's best. Euro 96 et al

If only I could turn back time!

Just thinking, I was 14 in 1996. Some of these kids born that year will soon be 14.

1996 was half my lifetime ago.

Oh my god.

First game we drew 1-1 with the Swiss, Shearer with the opener.

Second game we beat Scotland 2-0 after they missed a penalty to equalise. What a goal from Gazza!!!

Third game we hammered the Dutch 4-1!!!!

Quarter final we were very luck to beat Spain on penalties. They had two good goals chalked off.

Semi final we took the lead through Shearer, drew 1-1 in normal time. Anderton hit the post then Gazza was an inch away from scoring, before we lost on penalties...

If she retired after Atlanta she would have gone down as an olympic legend. It was after the world champs she was caught. :(

Still has her Olympic medals though. :) :)
