When I hear the saying "you only get one life "(and then look at other people less fortunate than myself it does bring it home though)
I really need to get my butt into gear.
This thread could turnout to be a blessing in disguise.

Random musing: Words are not the things they label.

If groked, this beguilngly simple statement can be very illuminating.

The verb "to be" and all it's derivatives is responsible for massive confusion. The less we use it the more truthful our utterances.

Ever heard of e-prime?

Heinlein was all for incest, also (if you were white, rich, intelligent and him).

Though his early short stories were great. Before he went mad.

The thought of me being a dinosaur is a new one for me Bodil, but I'm not going to reject it just yet. It could be some kind of dissasociation, something terrible might have happened to me :(

Does death scare any of you ?
I am more scared of my loved ones around me leaving far more than myself.

Everyone gets over every one else surprisingly quickly. Just don't die and leave young children to others would be the golden rule.

Some say sleep is close bedfellow of death,a state where you are unaware of your own existance
By:

When: 17 Oct 09 00:25
Actually RH, mosaic sleep is fashionable at the moment. It's a wonder we function - if this can be called life.

I have 3 people that I already worry about Bodil what I will be like when they leave.
In an ideal world,I will go first.

The trick is not to confuse death with dying. Dying is to be avoided for as long as possible. Death might be better than we think.

Very true Bill, but when it happens you don't really think that way.

I was talking about when a loved one leaves. It's hard to think they have gone to a better place(for me anyway)
By:

When: 17 Oct 09 00:33
stewards - speaking historically, a large number of people have overcome your problem (like everyone in the human race previously). Once they get over 16 there's not a lot you can do if they argue against it. Though you can kill people (not if you're dead).

No, that's about it. Must go looking for my bed. Do the best you can and not worry beyond. I think my brain's flowing.

Stewards, I'm sorry if you're still sensitive over losing somebody. I wasn't being flippant and didn't intend to upset anyone. I've been to several funerals this year, one of them was my dad's.

What does it matter if they have went to a "better place," or a worse place, lol, not one iota, ffs, people need to grow up and lead their own lives ffs.

Bodil I always respect your frankness(still not worked you out, don't think I ever will ;) ) but I am just slightly over the 16 yr mark.I could be 90 in all fairness, but at the end of the day a death of someone I care about, has and will always knock me side ways.Having been to many a funeral I totally envy and respect the way some people are able to cope with it all.I know I will never be able to....Fact!!!
