Good afternoon Gentlemen. :)

I have enlarged number eight, but the resolution is too poor to be able to make out any writing in the picture.

Likewise, the van's numberplate is illegible. The only clue could be the amount of papers lying on the dashboard. When I drove a van I used to shove stuff behind the steering wheel rather than on the passenger side where it would fall off. If this is the case here we're looking at a right hooker, which would obviously suggest a resort in the UK.

My guess is Sidmouth.

Funnily enough, i did the same - enlarged it, checked number plate, tried to read the signs, but didn't go as far as to look at the newspapers. You're definately more of a detective than i am!

Report Pokermonster December 3, 2009 2:13 PM GMT
I thought of photo-flipping possibilities Billy, but the blue awning tells us we're looking at the photo the right way around.
Report Pokermonster December 3, 2009 2:16 PM GMT
The biggest clue may come if Pump tells us where he found this montage.
Report Pokermonster December 3, 2009 2:19 PM GMT
I think the red arched sign in the background street reads: RESTAURANT & BAR.

No help there then! :(
Report billy hill December 3, 2009 2:26 PM GMT
Hmm those techies on CSI or NCIS would have this in no time.
looks like a fairly flat road onto a shingle beach, so presumably not much tide to worry about or seawall.
Report redrich December 3, 2009 2:28 PM GMT

Report jimmy69 December 3, 2009 2:58 PM GMT
Sidmouth has got iron railings so it can't be that.
Report panglima December 3, 2009 3:10 PM GMT
just number 8 needed but I reckon its impossible unless someone recognises it as somewhere they have actually been.
Report billy hill December 3, 2009 3:27 PM GMT
the clues seem to be there. Probably an English holiday resort, possibly shingle beach, road between the shop fronts and the "beach". cast iron railings a bit rusty from the sea weather. pull down canopies on the shops and cafes. somewhere you might go to as a couple by bike in shorts and t-shirt.
what looks like either "restaurant and bar" or "amusement arcade" in the background. and a dirty great pink apartment block / retirement flat /hotel behind it. Now thinking either one of the Butlins resorts, or perhaps South Wales somewhere
Report Ken Masters December 3, 2009 3:32 PM GMT
I vote Southend:

Red and blue canopies separated by one other, a road going behind the canopies with taller buildings beyond, the shadow of the railing matching the one in the pic, it's there I tell ye...
