Why would anyone now join the Armed Forces?

Same as why they did when we left school.

Nothing else for them.

Would be interesting to see annual death figures in the armed forces. There have been more conflicts than you might think.

Everyone isn't. Soldiers are. It's kinda part of the deal that you might have to fight at some point, otherwise you're essentially being paid to be on holiday.

Now you CAN of course judge that some causes are more worth fighting for than others.

Plenty of youngsters go straight from school into the armed forces from north and west Norfolk due to the lack of work opportunities.
