Wasn't too busy at work, so thought I would rate vegetables.

5 = best, 1 = worst:

5 = Maincrop potatoes, New potatoes, Swede, Sweetcorn, Cucumber, Peas, Asparagus

4 = Spinach, Cauliflower, Tomatoes, Rocket (goes against everything I stand for, but I think it is v. nice), Onions, Jerusalem Artichokes, Runner Beans, French Beans, Peppers, Beetroot, Mange Tout

3 = Chard, Savoy Cabbage, Brocolli, Aubergine, Parsnip, Sweet Potatoe, Red Cabbage, Celery cooked, Spring Onions, Sprouting Brocolli, Watercress, Squash

2 = Brussell Sprouts, Carrots, White Cabbage, IcebergLettuce, Broad Beans, Courgettes, Kale, Pumpkin, Okra

1= Leeks (can't stand them except insoup), Celery uncooked (vile stuff), Rhubarb (obviously not a veg, but awful just the same)

Leeks are fantastic. Aubergine however, is the Devil's vegetable. A moussaka is just a good lasagne ruined.

All of the above can be grown in this country by the way,I think virtually all of them without a greenhouse too :) Almost all veg is the absolute b.ollox when put in a sop tbf.

Brussell Sprouts remind me far more of people suffering food hell at christmas far more than listening to Band Aid ever did.
