I have no idea what to do, so far any advice ive been given hasnt worked. Its when i go into google images and type in something all the thumbnails remain blank so i cant see the images (although once in a blue moon they do show up), if i click one of the blank thumbnails it takes me to the picture but its hard going to go through every thumbnail for the pic you want. I have deleted all the history but that hasnt worked.
Anyone had similiar problems and know what to do? or any computer boffins about?

have you tried a different browser such as firefox?

yes mate, happens exactly the same on firefox. I have the latest version of IE and Firefox and im using Windows Vista..

how long has the problem been there bjk - have you tried a system restore?

I have had the computer since March (brand new from dell) and its never worked properly since i got it. Its never bothered me too much until now when i really wanna use the google image.
I haven`t done a system restore tev. Im not great with computers and wouldnt know where to start, a bit scared to mess about with it in case i lose stuff |

That explains it. I don't know what else to suggest. I'm assuming that you deleted temporary internet files whn you did the history? Someone on here will prob be able to help (there are a few eggspurts about) failing that, your left with the last resort option of formatting the HD and reinstalling vista (or better still, sticking XP on it) |

stupid question but have you tried typing in ' Google images not showing up ' in Google? Im pretty sure your problem isnt the first time this sort of thing has happened.
There may well be a setting in the advanced section of Internet Explorer "tools/internet options/ and something has been unticked. |

There is a section under multimedia in the aforementioned options screen that has 'show pictures' with a tick beside it.

yes preist, it has the show pictures ticked. I have tried it ticked and unticked.

One thing you could do is download the latest version of macromedia Flash player and Java, these could be responsble

I had this problem a long time ago traced it to a firewall,try switching your firewall off for a moment,see if they then download

installed all my updates too I will try the firewall switching it off for 2 mins.. |

I can't help you with Google but here's a tip.
Try Bing for images. It's by far the best image search engine (Google doesn't even get close). BING it :-) |
