I have always admired the natty smart-casual swagger of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, and often wondered, why does he never wear a tie? In fact none of them do. It is illegal to wear a tie in Iran. Neckties - and bowties - were said to be decadent, un-Islamic and viewed as "symbols of the Cross" and the oppressive West.

You know, in Iran somewhere there are all sorts of nobheads saying exactly the same thing about the UK and everyone in it. They tend to be his supporters too.

He is a joker, without doubt and there are plenty of bellends willing to support him. But they just mirror your views and, as much as you won't like to admit it, you are the mirror image of Iranian extremists with comments like that.

Without doubt, if you were Iranian you would be loving his ridiculous rhetoric. It's virtually the same as your own, but from the opposite side of things.

They should just gather together all the nobs in Iran and all the nobs in the UK with views like yours, put them on an island and let them get on with it.

For Live Forever...The difference between people like me (as you put it) and 'my' counterparts in Iran are quite simply that I believe in freedom of speech and I'm not about to strap an explosive belt around my body and detonate it in a crowded place. Don't get me started on these cvnts...if you defend them you'd best have a damn good argument.

Where has anyone on this thread even begun to defend Ahmadinejad?

I think you'll find that the issue was that some clown, sorry, defender of freedom, claimed that every single Iranian is, and I quote "a c**t".

You might not see that as a bit of a strange statement, from your PC Gone Mad Warrior point of view but it strikes me as particularly close to the stance of people like Ahmadinejad himself.

He's made what might be an unfounded, possibly unfounded, presumption about reasoning maybe, I agree.

But I don't think it's particularly unreaswonable to question the rationale of "he looks like a nutter to me" as a premise for poltiical reasoning. It's hardly high level reasoning.

I'm no defender of freedom...I'm just a regular bloke expressing an opinion...then you came on the thread all p!ssy and having a go...it's not a big deal, really it's not.
Report Live Forever • November 30, 2009 2:42 PM GMT
Well, if you read it back, you actually claimed that every single man woman and child in Iran is 'a c**t' and then attempted to defend it with some sort of "they don't believe in freedom of speech" stance. (We'll leave aside the political and social culture of many parts of Iran for now)

So who was it that cam eon the thread with the ridiculous comments first? me or you?
Report Benny brown trousers • November 30, 2009 2:47 PM GMT
I think his denial of the holocaust and a pledge to wipe Israel off the face of the earth are good starting points to define "nutter"
I`ve nothing against small bearded men with middle eastern looks btw.

Thing is Live Forever, you're making this into something that it's not...I'm not looking for a platform for an argument / heated discussion...I said earlier that it was a throwaway line...the footy punters have a whole forum with similar remarks aimed at just about everyone but I don't see you jumping in there and taking a stand.

For you to be so upset must mean there is some sort of Iranian connection for you...now, in the interests of detente, I am publicly apologising to you for calling all Iranians cvnts , however my view on Ahmedinejad is unchanged. Does this straighten the matter out ?
