For maximum gratification the cheese has to be grated on top of the beans, mixing the two is not the forward imo. A liberal splashing of HP sauce is generally the rule also.

Funnily enough just had the same(ish) 4 slices of hovis seed sensation (2 buttered, 2 with houmous) Then some extra mature cathedral city grated over them. then the branston baked beans over top followed by an ommellete on that and half a chicken breast. yum :)

I generally fry a couple of rashers of bacon (chopped up) then add 1/2 a tin of beans (without much of the sauce preferrably, a pinch of chilli powder, and some mature cheese (mild has no taste). All cooked on a low heat til the cheese has melted. On 2 slices of toast. If no bacon, ham will do (no need to fry this first).
