send the owners to prison its totally their fault

The family will have tormented the dog so it would be 'hard' and aggressive when walking with his chavvy mates. Then they leave it with a child in the house. Natural selection at it's best.

Just on the news that the home of the incident was reported to the police in February

Not all dogs in the dangerous dog group are actually dangerous. Friendly, totally trustworthy staffs outnumber dangerous ones by about 1000-1

Half the dogs in my park that the owners claim to be Staffs obviously have Pit-Bull in them.

If they are going to reform the law they have got to decide where to draw the line.

1 in 1000 is 1 in 1000 too many.

The fact is there are dangerous dogs all over the place, and they're a status symbol among some of the worst sorts of people in society.
Sad, but true.

What a surprise ! The police knew of the problem and did nothing about it.

It's a 1.01 that we will hear them deliver those magic words 'lessons will be learned' soon enough.

Police have admitted they did not take action after receiving a report of dog breeding at the Liverpool house where a four-year-old boy was mauled to death.

John Paul Massey was killed by a dog at the property in Ash Grove, Wavertree, just after midnight.

His grandmother, Helen Foulkes, 63, was injured while trying to save the child and has been treated in hospital.

Merseyside Police said it had a report of dog breeding in February and was investigating why no action was taken.

Dog shot

It said the lack of action was "contrary to policy".

The animal which killed the boy was shot by armed officers in the front garden of the house.

An investigation is continuing to establish whether it was a breed deemed illegal under the Dangerous Dogs Act.

Ch Supt Steve Ashley, of Merseyside Police, said: "In February this year a housing officer rang Merseyside Police to say they had received complaints of dog breeding at the address.

He was a friendly, cheerful little boy who was bright and enthusiastic in everything he did

Dog attack death the latest in a line
"At that time the police said it wasn't a police matter and no action was taken by Merseyside Police.

"That is contrary to our policies and an investigation is now launched into exactly what happened in February."

Another 1.01 is that no police officer will resign in shame, and that none will be sacked.....unless of course there is a whistleblower in the ranks.

"contrary to policy" :_|

maybe a case of illegal dog breeding and they dont even look into it.
Report Andy Arb November 30, 2009 8:16 PM GMT
easy solution to this problem, kill all the dangerous dgos and all their owners, and their owners children. Maybe sounds a bit harsh, but it will be good for society in the end.

I always thought I could take down one of these dogs as I am a big tough lad, was walking my greyhound and a shell suited chav type had his off lead it came hurtling over to my greyhound so I jumped in between them , it hit my shins full on with its head, omg I have never felt anything so hard as that dogs head, managed to get a good kick into it and slip my greyhound off lead, luckily she ran off home, over 2 roads ,thankfully surviving this task, the devil dog gave up the chase and the owner finally got it back on the lead, when remonstrating why he had such a dog, he said it was so he could set it on the local**
