There were 46,000 new cases of swine flu in England last week, down from 53,000 cases the previous week.
The Health Protection Agency estimates there have been 760,000 cases of swine flu since the pandemic began.
Currently there are about 783 patients in hospital in England as a result of swine flu. There have been 163 deaths in England, but this figure represents the deaths of people with swine flu. It does not mean that the death was caused by swine flu.
a week or so ago BBC Wales gave the number of swine flu deaths to be 214.
though as mentioned above it doesn't mean it was the direct course of death ... but it wouldn't have helped.
