The waves of horribleness that wash over when you remember that you've not got them anymore? Yeah, that sucks.

Any man who agrees to go to Tesco's without at least a token show of resistance has clearly had his spirit broken

Also, you can always kid yourself that at some point in the future you might get back together.. content yourself with this notion.. crack on with your day to day life with that in the back of your mind. Then cherish and relish the day when you wake up and actually don't give a rat's arse about her anymore. 'Tis something to look forward to if nothing else.

And no texting her later when you have had a few ;)

And if you do manage to find someone else who actually matters more than a quick fumble with another ex for the sake of it, then you'll move on a lot more quickly than you thought possible. |

right, there is a lass I have met at work, Im pretty sure she likes me, if there was a market I reckon it would be slightly odds on, I am in a position whereby I can arrange a legitimate professional meeting with her and I can hatch a master plan, she is indian and cute with big brown eyes, is this a good strategy?

having lived alone for two years I used to wake up feeling that and I liked it, life was sooo uncomplicated |
|
By:
No imo cos she'll pale in insignificance when compared to who you refer to as your 'lost love' and make you feel even more depressed about future relationship endeavours'. Wait a bit imo.
|
|
By:
Did I mention this is imo? Good stuff.

Drink is unquestionably the base around which to build a solid recovery. However the trump card is smashing the remnants of the relationship into smithereens.
There are probably some 66/1 quotes in the back of your mind about getting back together, these need to be eradicated by any means possible, even if means absolute kamikaze behaviour on your part. Fire off a torrent of vindicative, nasty abuse after a few drinks, even throwing in the odd lie if needs be. This needs to be a sustained night long attack, not just one airy fairy text. The loathing she will have for you after this will ensure any kind of relationship is completely irretrievable. This kind of mutual hatred (even if based on false pretences) is very cathartic. Job done. |
