There's very little difference between any of the brands.
That's the point of vodka. Pure ethanol plus water. |

Russian Standard a recent adman's invention. You need authentic old Russian or Polish - none of this newfangled crap. They've probably got lots of failed communist in them. I've had some interesting times with Stoly. In 5 years time it will be a health cure for reducing blood cholesterol. Buy now!

Sorry egg, i have tasted every vodka going. Tried everything and never wanted to pay the prices but abs/smirn are the best.
I really need to actually talk to someone that has tasted blue smirnoff.... |
|
By:
smirnoff blue is jus a really strong version of red
|
|
By:
blue smirnoff is too strong imo
it just simply **ks you up |
|
By:
Finnish stuff is OK - if overpriced.
BTW - YOU'RE ALL FINNNISH! |

Good man d13
Vodka is may favourite sip so have moved onto blue smirnoff. Its just the people that claim etc... |
|
By:
smirnoff is just the most known n popular, nothing else good abt it,

Until recently I made neutral grain spirit for a living. This was watered down and a fancy label applied. They call this vodka. If the spirit is almost pure ethanol, which any EU produced spirit will be, then the only difference between vodkas is the water and I wouldn't pay £10 a bottle extra for Evian over Buxton. |

Zubrowka bison grass vodka from Poland has a unique taste. Of Bison grass.
Tried Grey Goose the other week and while it was very clean didn't really get the hype. |

By:
Wasnt Zubrowka a white label with gold edges ?
|
|
By:
Zubrowka bison grass is different because it has some sort of flavour.

Get real gents. The only thing we have to calculate is the stand-off between alcohol content and price.
Now I must chase the devil's herd in the sky. Join me later. |

i never thought i would ever get interested in how vodka tasted..... |
|
By:
Green label with a bison on it. Years ago it had a darker label, lovely stuff. You can drink it straight, from the bottle.

There was a recent blind tasting in the Telegraph. 3 "experts". Best tasting vodka: GLEN'S £7 a bottle. I'm not joking. |

|
|
By:

|
|

IS - I've never yet crumpled on frozen vodka drinking with anyone. Lots of others got really amusing stories apparently. God help the beast in me.
|
|
By:
I like to think i know or have tried most of the vodkas
the cheap ones are good for parties and non drinkers etc I dont often surrender to labels but blue or black smirnoff taste nice , too my hate. Absolute is nice but behind smirnoff red. |

Went to Russia when it was still communist, people would pass a bottle round in a circle before breakfast. Never really understood alcohol as a pure drug until then. Flying for eight hours.
Think it was Moskovskaya in the hotels and home made hooch for everybody else, gorby was trying to stop the addiction by cutting off supplies. Didn't work too well, everybody was wasted, permanently. |
|
By:
good man ghost, vodka was their drug in the past....
no different to the uk, but they used something else. |
|
By:
Smirnoff Blue is a killer. I drunk a bottle when I was a student and accidentally ended up back with my ex. Took me weeks of diplomacy to extract myself from the relationship again.
|
|
By:
for any hard core drinkers
anyone ever tried wray and nephew me and a group of mates tried it once as it was the strongest drink on the wetherspoons menu (obviously back in the day) out of 6, 1 made it home horrendous stuff |
|
By:
D13, label name ?
HM, you are lucky you remembered |
|
By:
W&n is the strongest rum you can get in the UK (I think)
Evil hangover caused by contamination with congeners. |
|
By:
lol my mate once bought all of us double shot of tht 60% rum or something at whetherspoons
we all got drunk tht night lol. |
|
By:
I'm getting old, used to love getting drunk but now it lasts the next day which defeats the 4 hours of fun the night b4.......
