So he is too mentally unwell to be extradited.

But he's plenty sharp enough to hack into 90+ American military computers to retrieve classified information and shut various systems down over there.
The Aspergers card is being played to the max here but surely even people with Aspergers know what is right and wrong and must be accountable if they do things that they know are illegal.
Once could have been deemed an accident, but 97 times? Extradite him and let him take his chances over there like a normal person would.

Depends on how bad he's got Asperger's. Like schizophrenia, its made worse by psychological stress. He could end up having a permanent panic attack.

Surely they want to give him a job? If we can extradite him, why cant we send Abu "no handsa" Hamza to and all the other Muslim extremists to Gitmo?
There's a problem right there in that I have never heard him once express a shred of remorse, despite the media coverage he has been given and his seemingly intelligent and articulate appraisal of his case.

Is Aspergers one of these made up modern "diseases"? as an excuse for social inadequacy and the work shy? i wonder how mnay on permamanet sick suffer this ailment?
Why should we extradite the bloke? We bow and scrape to everything the yanks demand. Personally I'd tell them to fck off and remind them of the numerous IRA murderers they refused to extradite to us.

Jordi, are you saying people with aspergers don't know the difference between right and wrong?
I'm not unsympathetic to people with the condition, but you can't go round doing what you want when you know it is wrong and then play the 'I've got aspergers' card.

I don't think he should get off entirely. I'm sure he knew he was doing wrong. But it is a mitigating factor. Asperger's cases don't have the same 'radars' as normal people, and the degree to which this is true varies considerably from case to case. Hard to know how he should be dealt with, though.
So if I had a bad case of aspergers could I go to the Brit awards and lick the flanges of Girls Aloud and the Saturdays under the table expecting to get away with it to a greater extent than someone without the condition?

my boy would walk into a shop pick up drink and crisp and just walk out without paying,the thing is he looks like a normal boy but he isnt ,its a nightmare,i wouldnt whish this on anyone,the same for all familys who haver to deal with this condition
I can appreciate what you are saying. However, whilst he doesn't seem to appreciate the danger of what he has done, he does seem to appreciate the danger of being extradited to, and sentenced in, America.

Irrespective of his fitness to stand trial, the treaty under which he was/is being extradited is nothing short of a disgrace. There is no way on earth that the US would hand us one of their citizens on the equivalent charge. On that basis, even if the Asperger's thing is a complete fabrication (which I doubt), I say good luck to the guy.

Seems to ba aspergers for occasions, didnt seem to bother him when he was hacking away, dont think he has it so its a sick joke he is playing.
Another question is why Pentagon security is so lax, their computers can be hacked by UFO-nut losers like McKinnon.
They like to pretend they know what they are doing, but they don't. This is why they allow many conspiracy theories to propogate. Especially ones that make it look like they are James Bond baddies.

I agree entirely with Jordi and Paddy Mayne - I myself have a mild form of AS and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. Equally if I didn't have it I doubt i'd be as keen on racing and other sports as I am. There are positives to it too but they don't outweigh the negatives.
