Does Terry Wogan thinks his deep side parting looks cool or something?

The secret of Delia's success is that she is not a great chef so of necessity has to slow things down.

The corollary of this is that we ordianry mortals can follow what she is doing. Contrast Delia's programmes with, say, Jamie Oliver's, where there is a higher degree of assumed knowledge, so quantities are given as "some" or "a handful", and the knife moves so fast it is blurred.

Delia was around long before the "tv chef" generation and her books are gargantuan sellers even her old stuff. She keeps it simple and doesnt show off.To her credit she's also stuck with norwich through thick and thin.Though one does wonder if a canary game was EVER on telly and you didnt get the "cue delia" pic before kick off and after if promoted/relegatedetc

I like her. If only British women aspired to her rather than Kelly Katona or Cheryl Cole. This country might be able to drag its self from the gutter.

Wel you'll never catch Delia with her rat out on TV, or punching a toilet attendant into submission.

With respect one would have thought Delias feelings are mutual on that one.

Im sure Delia's tips/recipies are used far more by the public, who dont have a great deal of time to cook than the recipies of some food ponces like Bluebottle or Rhodes Ramsey et al.

Now which food van at elland rd does the quail eggs with the quince and rocket bed?you know the one that drizzles the lamb foetus jus over everyhting like bl00dy ketchup!

Bamboo's been having a hate filled "beat off" seshion while seething and raging against the woman,he's most likely feeling a bit sheepish and vaguley guilty as he cleans his tv screen with the wet wipes
Report Bamboo November 27, 2009 10:44 AM GMT
well shes very irratating imo(lets be having you)canary i expect you only like her cos shes norwich(whipping boys). We are leeds
Report canaryboy November 27, 2009 10:48 AM GMT
why would i only like her because she's norwich?

i have a dislike for many of our players, past chairmen, and chief execs

however i have no reason to dislike someone who has always come across as genuine when i've met her and doesn't hide from criticism.

2 days after our record 7-1 defeat, she was due to attend a supporters annual function and could very easily have bottled it but chose to face the music. not sure many club owners would have bothered.
Report canaryboy November 27, 2009 10:49 AM GMT
and how are we whipping boys when we've won our last 5 home games and something like 9 of our last 11.

do you even follow football?
Report Bamboo November 27, 2009 10:51 AM GMT
yeah but we did you in extra time :^0 .No hard feelings
Report canaryboy November 27, 2009 10:53 AM GMT
why would there be hard feelings over a football match between 2 teams we just so happen to support?

She's right you know.

When my Dad was a boy they could only afford to have proper meat on a Sunday, when they would ahve a roast Chicken. The rest of the week it was Offal, fishfingers or egg on toast.
Report Bamboo November 27, 2009 11:29 AM GMT
offal not on your nelly
Report mitchell downie November 27, 2009 11:29 AM GMT
Well I hardly ever a chicken, maybe once or twice at the most. It was a piece of inlift at the weekend usually, and my mother who could cook, could make it last all week. Cold meat sandwiches, stew the rest. The modern generation of women are useless, or a good percentage of them are.

No excuse at all for condoning the miserable life of a creature that has spent its miserable life in a space no bigger than a sheet of A4
Report mitchell downie November 27, 2009 11:30 AM GMT
ever saw a chicken when I was growing up that should have read*

It's true.

Offal can be very nice. Offaly nice indeed.

How do you think we sustained the population boom through the 50's and 60's? Eating Pancetta and foccacia bread drizzled with olive oil?

If you can afford it, by expensive meat. Some people can't. What should they eat? Brqead and water?
Report canaryboy November 27, 2009 11:35 AM GMT
