In my opinion yes...
To urinate on a memorial dedicated to those who lost their lives so that he might enjoy his freedoms today is the most distrespectful thing I can think of, not only to those who died, but also deeply hurtful to their families.
I guess the lad is just stupid as f**k.. but then I read in the paper that he goes to Sheffield Hallam, so I guess go figure....

maybe prison would have been a bit extreme....
maybe a huge fine would have been better, so that he doesnt have any of his tax payer funded student loan left to go out and get sozzled with...... add to that a large sentence of community service |

It's no excuse for violence at all , as that would always be serious ( unless in self defence).
Urinating in public is an offence , but obviously it is a lot more offensive on a war memorial , so wether he was aware of this is important imo. |

Imo, Urinating in any public place deserves a severe punishment, there are always options, wee in a bottle or find the nearest public toilet fight with the gays and flashers, empty out. Tap off your mates girlfriend and have a partly cooked pie with ***** What a good night that was i woke up in a hedge with some tranny's wig shoved down my trousers and a used condom in my sock, God knows where that policemans torch came from.

I read that story and thought "there but for the grace of God go I" - I would never do such a thing normally (obviously), but I occasionally get thoughtlessly drunk and have occasionally urinated where I shouldnt - if he genuinely didnt know, then stick him with a fine and a bindover and let him get on with it

i think he got the right punishment-he seemed contrite enough. However i dont like this 'I was drunk so its not realy my fault ' line as you choose to drink so you should knwo the consequences

No, definately not.
The young lad was in the wrong and he knows it and has apologised. He will have to live with the embarassment and shame of what he did for the rest of his life. Community service is the correct punishment. |
