You need a pen & paper for this.....
My house is alarmed but I always forget the code for the keypad. I do however have some clues which help me remember what it is...

There are five numbers...
The fifth and the third added together make 14
The fourth is one more than the second
The first is twice the second, less one
The second added to the third makes 10
All added up come to 30

Guess my numbers and in what order they must be entered....

There are five numbers...
The fifth and the third added together make 14 c + e = 14
The fourth is one more than the second d = b + 1
The first is twice the second, less one a = 2b - 1
The second added to the third makes 10 b + c = 10
All added up come to 30 a + b + c + d + e = 30

a + b + d = 16
a + 2b + 1 = 16
2b - 1 + 2b + 1 = 16
4b = 16
b = 4
a = 7
d = 5
c = 6
e = 8

Without **ing...

square root 3 = 1.732
square root 2 = 1.414
pi = 3.14159265

Why can I remember these things but not remember what I am meant to be doing today?
