cheap food = nasty quality imo..how can iceland sell a 1kg bag of mince at 99p? becasue it's meat that not even a pig would scoff.

A mate of mine works for an industrial bakery, he told me years ago about the bread they made. Bread from the same batch was split onto two separate conveyor belts, one went into a known brand and was sold for £1 the other went into a tesco's value wrapping and was sold for 50p.
If you want to pay for your so called quality ingredients then go right ahead. |

Google "mechanically recovered meat" and you'll get an idea how places like Iceland can sell that rubbish so cheaply.
Big business taking advantage of the lazy who haven't the intelligence to look after themselves properley. |

He told the BBC Radio 4's Today programme that, in one investigation, they found that while a piece of flesh cost £3.30 per kg, MRM cost just 37p a kg. And people eat that stuff just because it's cheap and even worse feed their kids on it. Unbelievable. |
