Train fares and council tax effect the price of lamb??
Report zilzal1 November 20, 2009 4:45 PM GMT
I was talking about deflation
Report Scamp the man November 20, 2009 4:45 PM GMT
It does if you buy the lamb on the train.
Report mexicano November 20, 2009 4:46 PM GMT
if you raised it in your garden, and despatched the carcass by train it would have a significant impact imo.

but then again, i'm no economist.
Report cunnybobbler November 20, 2009 4:55 PM GMT
why did the lamb only have half a leg? was it disabled?
Report Ivor November 20, 2009 4:57 PM GMT
Welsh lamb was it?
Report zilzal1 November 20, 2009 5:00 PM GMT
It would want to be Blessed by the Pope for that price
Report spyker November 20, 2009 5:00 PM GMT
App there is going to be a plethora of organic lamb for sale as wholesalers don't want to buy it so farmers are desperate - can't say i've noticed but you never know......
Report Big Charlie November 20, 2009 5:09 PM GMT
Sheep and pig rustling is rife in some places.

Cheaper than the butchers.

go to iceland. everything seems to be a pound according to the ads. probably be able to get 400 sausages for a pound. i cant guarantee they actually contain any real meat though.
Report zilzal1 November 20, 2009 5:28 PM GMT
The more expensive meats are now electronically tagged, after a trolley was half filled and rushed out of the door

The regional frozen food outlet up here is Farmfoods. They definitely do it. Iceland generally match them for price. I bought a frozen leg for under a tenner in Sainsbury's about a year ago.
Report wit-ham November 20, 2009 6:09 PM GMT
normally around £10 around this area for half a leg

i bought some from asda last week for £2 for 4 and noticed yesterday they had gone up to £3.68 so didnt bother getting any from there, so daughter popped to tesco's and picked a few up for £2 there.
Report Splicer Keats November 20, 2009 7:12 PM GMT
thanks for the tip emr, how they can justify rises of that size is beyond me.
Report Early Morning Riser November 20, 2009 7:14 PM GMT
i allways notice if they got anything on offer they put the price up big time after the offer.
Report bodil November 20, 2009 8:16 PM GMT
I can't think of a single thing that I use that has gone down in price - until this morning when the bloke who sells me bird seed said sunflower hearts had gone down in price. Well, prepare for raging deflation, I said to myself.
