they may raise enough to buy a chelski striker.
the only point in stuff like this is to make the "little people" feel like theyre doing something when really the amount raised is pitiful. |

It has its place, sadly the modern version is just for 'stars' to self promote.
I am happy its not next friday for a change because most years it ruins a days racing at newbury. |

The BBC are not shy in 'promoting their shows' tonight.

if you had 5 million to donate what would you ask for in return ?......i'd settle for lily allen ,to go away from our screens and papers forever.

Christ, its still on!!!
Wogan is nodding off, he could use his two foot ears as pillows if he folded them over! It really is sooooo self indulgent. Charity was once the preserve of the philanthrope who could make a difference on his way to heaven, not Bethany age 8, selling finger paintings to raise £2. Pointless. |
|
By:
Just called up to donate and spoke to a lovely sort on the phone.
Had half a mind to tell her I had a very generous donation to give to her. An opportunity missed..... |

Still on!!!!!
Was channel hopping and Lewis Hamilton came on. Seems they have now raised £15 million. Isnt Hamilton on £70 million a year? Pitiful. |

Self aggrandisement of the highest order.
Spandau just pledged the profits from their new single, that will be the 8000 downloads then at 50p a pop! Sorry for the cynicism but its awful. |

Who's the girl in the hat singing ABC with the massive norks?

Can't understand the whingers on here. Would they prefer it didn't happen and the money wasn't raised? Of course it's shameless commercialism but it compels people to donate money when otherwise they probably wouldn't bother.
|
|
By:
the point is 15 million raied when the people on the show earn that in no time, dosent add up..

No matter how hard off you think you are, there are always people worse off.
That notion, along with our generosity was something that made our nation great. So many cynics nowadays who would argue against a cure for cancer if one came about. |

These programmes really get my goat up.
All the celebs there to promote themselves. Watched 5 mins before another prog was to start and the "dragons" doing some sort of project building summit. Weve used all our favours and we still need a cooker! jeez there worth well over £100m between them and they struggled to rustle up money for a cooker. Then previous year we had Lewis Hamilton asking for people to be generous and donate. Yeah mate your worth over £100m yourself, if you gave half your money to the cause, problem solved! If all these celebs and multi millionaires gave their fair share to good causes and didnt pay £10,000 for a haircut etc then those people many of whom dont have a pot to pi$$ in wont have to sacrifice £5 which could be a big deal to many. |
|
By:
im not against giving money...i just want to know that these presenters have dipped there hands in there pockets.
they are quick to tell you how much mr smith has donated or mr brown. |
