Am i the only one who hates stuff like this?
One registered charity for every 80 adults in the UK.
More charities than the rest of the world added together!!
Its pretty pointless in a country with the highest taxes in the world.
All babyincubators, dialysis machines and hospice beds should come from central government funding.
The profits of Dutch Shell are 100 times what they will raise, what is the damned point?

the only point in stuff like this is to make the "little people" feel like theyre doing something when really the amount raised is pitiful. |

Wogan is nodding off, he could use his two foot ears as pillows if he folded them over! It really is sooooo self indulgent. Charity was once the preserve of the philanthrope who could make a difference on his way to heaven, not Bethany age 8, selling finger paintings to raise £2. Pointless. |

Can't understand the whingers on here. Would they prefer it didn't happen and the money wasn't raised? Of course it's shameless commercialism but it compels people to donate money when otherwise they probably wouldn't bother.

These programmes really get my goat up.
All the celebs there to promote themselves. Watched 5 mins before another prog was to start and the "dragons" doing some sort of project building summit. Weve used all our favours and we still need a cooker! jeez there worth well over £100m between them and they struggled to rustle up money for a cooker. Then previous year we had Lewis Hamilton asking for people to be generous and donate. Yeah mate your worth over £100m yourself, if you gave half your money to the cause, problem solved! If all these celebs and multi millionaires gave their fair share to good causes and didnt pay £10,000 for a haircut etc then those people many of whom dont have a pot to pi$$ in wont have to sacrifice £5 which could be a big deal to many. |
