PF: yes, *some* women do that - insecure ones. Also, many young women don't seem to realise that not all an sundry want to see their bra! At work not so long ago, a colleague of mine (mid 20s) had a big presentation to do and she came in wearing a strapless top, bra straps completely visible - but because it was obvioulsy a very fancy bra (velvet straps and little bows) she thought she looked good! I thought she looked like a tramp.
You might have self-control, but believe me, most men don't! It just gets a bit wearing day after day - that's all. |

I agree with your statement yeahyeahwhatever, which is why a lot of men don't take women so seriously because of that exact behaviour you have mentioned burn the bra maybe but women need to start looking at themselves if they want to be taken really seriously I have had meetings with my boss, and believe me, she was trying to show off her assets as much as possible, women don't help themselves |

I'm an IT contractor - and I was left a bit of money earlier this year so I'm tempted to live off that for a year and try my hand full-time at this. Just a bit concerned about how a year-off with no income will be viewed.

you definitely have to make some kind of N.I. contribution even if you have the year off
if you don't tell hmrc anything next year, you find in say 3 years time, you'd get a letter from HMRC saying you haven't contributed anything in the year 2009-2010 NI wise, and they'd ask for so much off you, maybe £200? it varies so do tell HMRC that you're gonna have a year off work and not go on "the dole", you don't want to get any surprises |
