It is a fair cross section of a bookies in a sh1t part of a big city imo.

No. There are two key criteria for posting here. 1) Thinking you can make money by being 5% smarter than other people who think they can make money by being 5% smarter than you. Obviously, there are going to be a fair few people unhappy in this process. 2) Wanting to post on internet forums. Internet forums are a haven for those whose views are not tolerated by wider society.

I still think there's a decent number of good eggs though.

I gamble but I'm not much good and ,dare I say it, I lose. I can afford it and I enjoy it. I lose less now though as is cheaper to play bad poker than it is to back bad horses.

I actually think the average intelligence of the forum (not the wisdom) is quite high. It's just there's a lot of people who aren't listened to in the real world. The facebook related thread tonight was a classic - the bitterness almost tumbles out your hard drive.

True Slippy, ok, is it a fair cross section of UK punters? Lots of people will have similar views to us on here but choose not to gamble though.

They are however a very eclectic bunch and between us all we have been there and done that whatever the circumstances, no matter what the subject matter. Lots of good folk offer honest advice and the vast majority are very decent people. That's what I have found anyway in the time I have been here. I get out in two years for good behaviour, looking forward to that.
