I'm possibly getting a mac mini to connect it to my tv and am just getting my head round organising my media management. I listen to a lot of music and up until now haven't really watched much tv or many films through the internet (mainly watch sport anyway). I've had a look at the plex website and this seems the best option but I'm still not sure exactly where I'd get the films or tv stations from.
When you've finished laughing at my stupidity can somebody explain if the tv/films are included in plex, (if not where do i get them from?) can i store plex on an external hard drive and can an app remote on my 'touch' work just as well as a 'hard' remote? Any other tips or websites that can point me in the right direction would be simply wonderful as well!
Thanks in advance.

PLEX - http://www.plexapp.com/

best player for all types of movie files, you can store you films on an external disk and the interface is really nice. Most peeps make backups of DVDs they own then play them through PLEX, it is... a joy

Boxee is much better than Plex.

Plex is the mac version of xbmc from what i can gather. Are tv channels/films on plex/xbmc or do i have to get hold of them myself?

you add your own media. there are streaming plugins and the like but best to just rip your dvd collection to HD somewhere that media player box of choice can access

I have used both

Boxee is better as it does other things like streaming Hulu, iPlayer and Torrents.

I'll take a look at boxee then - i don't have a huge bluray collection only really got a few since I won the player on here! I'd probably be after a streaming or download service of somesort.

Found this site - ertx.com - but can't find anything about it, probably illegal but can't be sure!

Anybody use 'Eye tv'? Would it be a replacement for v+ or can it work alongside virgin? My tv already has freeview but i don't use that as I've got virgin xl - though I think I'm going to ditch that - and keep sky sports as it's still cheaper through virgin than sky (or sky online which I've heard is pants!). I'm interested in the idea of having tv channels from the internet but am not sure of the best way to go about it and my head hurts from reading the same gobbledegook!

I think Dentyl pH Icy Cherry is better than Plax.
