Does hibernate shut all programs down to conserve extra energy? Does sleep keep them open, making it the returning-shortly option? When I was an inquisitive child I'd have cracked this on Day 2. Just can't be arsed now. |

If you choose hibernate you can never be sure it will wake up again.
It may be dead when you open the shoebox in spring. |

Hibernate stops the disks from spinning, sleep just... I don't know what sleep does, but it doesn't stop the disks spinning.
