If swine/bird flu and subsequent derivatives was to decimate the population early enough the worlds resources and use of them would make controlling climate change manageable. It is the extra few billion people on the planet that are the root of climate change when you break it all down.

Simple - not finding a suitable replacement for oil as fuel source when oil runs out
Nuclear devices falling into the hands of terrorists (not a case of if but when imo) a lot of plutonium uranium missing unnacounted for,a city could be wiped out bringing horrors of destructive reprisals etc (a price they'd probably think worth paying)

Overpopulation.
which leads back to disease.
When there is overpopulation of a species that starts to create an imbalance, nature takes over and culls things back naturally.
When the flu bug hit London in the spring, areas of greater population per square mile were hit the hardest (Tower Hamlets 1 in 750 people, I believe).

Overpopulation will - directly or indirectly - lead to famine/ wars / global warming and mass suffering on a scale which no-one in the western world has experienced in 60+ years.
For all our sakes:
STOP BREEDING AND STOP IVF
YOU KNOW IT MAKES SENSE.
