That farmerish yokely west-country thing that they have in East Angula as well.

I dont know about taking it seriously but I cannot stand the Brummie accent.

Just sounds so whiney and annoying.

fair enough reg, i cant tell you how outsiders might judge it ,but a west country accent would stick out here like a sore thumb . :)

I have got quite a thick Gloucestershire accent but there's nothing worse than the Bristol accent. Vicky Pollard lives!
Report Coachbuster November 15, 2009 10:53 PM GMT
reg ..my brother is from Newton Abbot ,so when he is round the town here (moved up this way) he is often quizzed about his accent.

esp using such phrases as 'wheres 'at to ?' and other such gems :)
Report Coachbuster November 15, 2009 10:54 PM GMT
the rolling of the Rs give it away a bit too

Yeah the Forest accent is very different. I'm from Gloucester but my Dad's side of family are from Cinderford and they speak quite a bit differently.

Yeah, to me the West country accent is as far removed from as east anglian as a Yorkshire /Scottish accent .

I can clearly hear the london accent in east anglians even a touch of midland ,but no west country at all .

Most say the suffolk accent is like that of New Zealand.
