thelib. Our brains are constantly evolving/rewiring. If text is all we have then they will change to extract the maximum information from that text - which they didn't have do in the past (no need). We keep a construct of people's post's (character) in our memory and interpret subsequent posts accordingly. Things move on. So should your appreciation.

Steptoe, it appears to be the two of us against Bodil and Huge Arse.

wow, how liberating

in my next life i will return as a faux-woman and start threads that receive 500 replies, I will attract the flies and the roaches from all corners of the world, those who have lost their youth, those who are living in regret, those who know no way to interact with real people - and all I will do is ask about a weekend spa break

By:
I only got 246 replies so far ;)
By:
Bodil, you seem rather cunning and someone who is a thinker. Huge Arse on the other hand......
By:
I will become Steptoe.
By:
I knew of the rich peoples siblings being sent off to champneys health resort and for them to send their security down to the local macdonalds while they were there. :-)

huge arse.
I will regret biting but here goes. Im far from any of the things you have mentioned on that list. There is nothing wrong with my social or communication skills thanks and before going full time on here had a successful career in banking. I have a life away from this computer but as its where I earn my money I do spend a fair amount of time on it. Everything on here is taken with a pinch of salt my most posters. The only one who seems to be annoyed is you mate. |
By:
Huge Arse, lighten up. You sound like the Robert de Niro character from Taxi Driver. Ffs, go and have a drink/sh*g/w*nk.
By:
A cunning thinker?
Hmmm... |
By:
It's just possible that someone with the name JBHA is not entirely serious. Unlike me.

could be an anagram

Well said Steptoe. I think most of us lead fairly busy lives and this is just a way of passing time and unwinding, as well as the fact that most of us are on this site for gambling purposes.
Huge Arse, you really should deal with your anger issues. I pity the people you come in contact with in the real world, as I am sure that most (if not all) of us think that you truly ARE a Huge Arse! |
By:
Im sorry but I draw the line at someone calling me a roach
By:
TOO FAR TONY, TOO FAR
By:
maybe i was calling you a fly?
By:
Blimey, SY, you sound like me. I also was in banking but have made a steady income on here for 7 years.
By:
right boys, I will leave you to your arguing. no place for a lady
By:
In that case im sorry ;)
By:
Huge Arse could clear a room, just by opening his mouth and expressing his views. He is surely the most likely of all of us to be hunched over his pc in a darkened room.

Hated almost every day canny.
Went from a customer service industry to full on sales. Talk about pushing products down the customers throats |

By:
Good man, Steptoe. LOL.
By:
If only we could generate electricity from the hatred expressed on here every night (much poorly repressed).
I'm working on it. |
By:
nice chatting to you thelibertine and steptoe, as always

Was with N and P, SY, taken over by Abbey National in '97. Took voluntary redundancy 6 months later and got by ever since.
The abolition of betting tax shortly afterwards was a big help, then I landed here in 2002 which was fortunate. Enjoyed my early banking years, some great memories, but last few were pretty dire. |
By:
Cheers G. Goodnight.
By:
Bodil, what do you gamble on?
By:
Was in the industry from 99 till last year.
The change in that time was incredible. Mostly for the worse. Less income now but far less stress |
By:
she's not gone yet .. i know .. she won't log off until her ass cheeks are fully relaxed & nodding orf ;)

I was in the banking world too a few years ago, very happy to have escaped from there as it was the kind of place where people stay for life, wake up at 60 and realise that the previous 35 years have merged into 1
By:
McM, what a vivid imagination you have.
By:
60 .. fk me who are you Ben Bernanke ?!?

Horses, rarely cricket. Racehorses present a continuum that repeats annually. Families - owners, trainer, jockeys, etc... - wonderfully incestuous. And doomed, like the much abused (and even more incestuous) breed. But long after I'm dead.
By:
I have been in the Civil Service 18 years and that has indeed all merged into one!
