My computer is infected with spyware etc which has made it borderline unusable. I have backed up all my files and am wondering how to go about reinstalling the Windows Vista operating system. Will this solve the problem and clean all the stuff off? Also, I dont think I have the CD so how would I do it?
you need the cd .. when you have , you just bung it in your pc drawer and follow the simple instructions for installing ..your pc is totally clean with the only thing on it the vista ...no anti virus or nothing ..

If you haven't got the CD then you're fooked anyway, and if you have to buy a new CD, don't buy Vista, anything but Vista imo. Win 7 is very good, or you could put a Linux on there for nothing.

Not sure, what you can do is use a cable to plug it into the router directly, put Win7 on and then that is very good at going onto the internet to find the drivers for all the bits you've got attached.

some machines have the default install stuff pre loaded on a section of the hard drive, you may have to simply press a key at startup to load system restore or something similar. If you google your machine type and check on the manufacturers web site you should find the details. This is probably only if you have a good make of machine. Alternatively reload the machine using the disks you made when you got it ;)
