Are there people on here who go to a sporting event on a Saturday and drink around 6 or 7 pints?
Report Mr Eboue November 12, 2009 9:19 PM GMT
I'm going to the races on Saturday and will probably consume between 6-7 pints in the evening.

So yes.
Report punterfleecer November 12, 2009 9:26 PM GMT

Report slartybartfast November 12, 2009 10:04 PM GMT
About 10-20 bottles of decent ale and 3-6 bottles of decent wine per year. So very little in a week.

Anyone who has drunk over 8 units in one session in the last 3 months has a drink problem (3 pints of lager).
Report Coachbuster November 12, 2009 10:09 PM GMT
Oscams ,a lot of 500 ml bottles of ale contain 3 units ,so that would be easily possible on a daily basis
Report Coachbuster November 12, 2009 10:09 PM GMT
20 units imo
Report Occam's Razor November 12, 2009 10:10 PM GMT
20 units is the weekly allowance.
Report Big Charlie November 12, 2009 10:11 PM GMT
None
Report punterfleecer November 12, 2009 10:12 PM GMT

Can't handle the hangover! Its like hitting your finger with a hammer. You know its gonna hurt, so best to avoid it! :)
Report evski November 13, 2009 8:17 AM GMT
since 1/11/2009 I have spent £103.79 on booze. All of that is a tthe pub at £2.50 a pint so I would say I drank 70% of that so in 12 days 28 pints.

The 28 units a week thing is total shyte. Other factors such as diet, regularity, body size, ethnicity and sex will all affect what is safe for you to drink. The BMA are a bunch of ssanctimonious dictators and they make it up. There is no sound scientific basis for 28 units.
Report Alex69 November 13, 2009 8:28 AM GMT
I usually have the equivalent of 'a few' units every night. This week, however, I managed to do three consecutive nights 'on the wagon', which I fell off last night courtesy of Mr Bombardier :)

I'm relatively abstemious nowadays, perhaps 10 pints a week tops. However I can vouch for a lad in my local who drinks 20-25 pints of cider daily, and has done for the past twenty-five years. He has a very bright red face.
Report Coachbuster November 13, 2009 11:27 AM GMT
i disregard pub units if its draught beer ,i reckon most pubs water their beer down .
Report niceone November 13, 2009 11:48 AM GMT
10 pints at the most.
