mine went after i coughed in the shower. first time it has ever"gone", have had a stiff back loads of times. this time i could walk, but only v.slowly. and i did get a sharp pain if i made certain movements. was ok in a couple of days, hope it doesn't become a regular thing.

apparntly lots of peoples backs go when they cough

Canary, I can empathise with your situation only too well.

My back went earlier this year. Never felt anything like it. I had to crawl around on all fours until the painkillers arrived, couldn't stand upright. I cry at nothing, but I felt like it that day.

A bad case of Kidney Stones
Only once, hopefully never again

Still remember crawling round the floor of A&E among the blood, sick and p1ss,
vomiting every few minutes.

The few hours from it starting to the first mega-strong painkiller was sheer hell

food poisoning is up there as it's about 36 hours of pure nausea, drowsiness, the runs ,vomiting...and you cant really stop it either

very painful as you cant even sleep, ure just in bed, waiting for the next vomit or sh1t

the sulphur burps are the most sickening - when the body wants to throw up, but all it can muster is stomach gas - the 'hello, you still there mate?' from the bacteria

most helpless ive ever felt.

titan, you've just reminded me of something.

Years ago, early 90s I went to a big music festival in the south west (you know the one). Really, really hot. On the monday morning they were selling ice cold unpasturised milk, so people were buying it and sharing a bottle. I had a whole 2 pints to myself.

Few days later everyone had the two penny bits except me. Lasted for about 2 days. I thought it was hilarious as I wasn't affected. Then it started and didn't stop for 10 days. I was sh!tting blood after a while, my insides has been cut to ribbons I'd been to the toilet that often.

And I've never been back since!

No offence canary, but your continued existence on this Earth make me seriously doubt whether accessible, affordable healthcare is really all it's cracked up to be.
