mine is to the left and i am right handed.. rather inconvenient.. but when I pass the plates from my right hand to my left towards the drainer some drippage does occur which makes the plates less wet.. something i am pleased about

Thread of the year, that reminds me are the taps on your sink left or right threaded (we have the less common reverse thread ones) this deserves a thread of its own

Comparitive sink/window positioning led me to have the drainer on the left of my new sink - quite the opposite of it's previous positioning. This was the knock on effect of having a 50/50 bowl drainer arrangement this time.

Thinly veiled "I've got a sink" thread imo

you're crazy in the kitchen department Lisa.. cant imagine going the opposite way to its original positioning.. must have been a very difficult decision as regarding the overall layout

We had a double drainer in our last house.

Does that count for this thread ?

Left hand sink, middle drainer, large sink to the right, all served by a flexible sprinkler tap and a main tap which is of a very smart and very annoying construction, it has only one control and that is to rotate in the horixontal plane around a vertical axis. From the start postion, it's cold, slow, moving quickly to cold full blast, where it stays for around 60 degrees of it's rotational limit. In the final 30 degrees it starts to warm up, but fully hot is only achieved at the endo of the 90 degree rotation. However, there is only the option of hot, full blast, not host, dribbling.

It is most annoying.

Here is the culprit:

The sink itself is another triumph of design over functionality, having, as it does, no elevated drainage channels, meaning that anything too big for the dishwasher left out to drain will have a nicely damp area where it's been resting on the 'drainage' platform.

The internal corners and edges of the sink unit are also helpfully sharply angled, not rounded, thus ensuring they'll never be properly clean again.

Once again, I give you the culprit:

Ken,

the way you are getting all stressed about dishwashing, dishwashers and sinks, I would say, if I didn't know better, that you were married or something.
