I never watch them when they are first shown ,so don't know which series is which , but i've seen about 100 i suppose , and when i do see the year in the credits ( or guess it from references to stuff in the show ) it ususally seems the better ones were mid 90s.
Report delz November 10, 2009 10:40 PM GMT
Think I've stopped before 2004. Once the most inventive, but worn out to the max. Far from funny, same ole stereotypes etc. At the latest, if a series makes it to the cinema - you know it's over.
Report sparkmaster. November 10, 2009 10:49 PM GMT
general decline after mid 90s, but still watchable and the odd good one IMO. I've watched a few from the latest series and they've been v good IMO.

"Maybe we should Irish up her coffee?"
"Put blood in it?"

Family Guy nicked all the good ideas.
Report tobermory November 10, 2009 10:52 PM GMT

Family guy rip off the Simpsons so much its criminal.
Report sparkmaster. November 10, 2009 10:53 PM GMT
The South park destruction of family guy was rather good.
Report Mr Eboue November 10, 2009 10:54 PM GMT
Indeed it was spark :)
Report nelson_muntz November 10, 2009 10:55 PM GMT
family guy has to rip off the simpsons cos the simpsons have done everything already.
Report delz November 10, 2009 10:56 PM GMT
Wise choice to start a new series doing everything again then!

should do a spin off of homer as a teenager imo.
Report sparkmaster. November 10, 2009 10:59 PM GMT
HA HA!
Report Mr Eboue November 10, 2009 10:59 PM GMT
Some of the earlier episodes are classic TV.

You can watch them time and time again ans still laugh.

Good idea would be a winner - the only interesting one left in the family
Report delz November 10, 2009 11:02 PM GMT
Oh dear, that's the next sign of decline after a film: make them younger. Didn't you ever watch Flintstones Kids or what the name was? Utter dross.
Report Mr Eboue November 10, 2009 11:05 PM GMT
I found out the other day that the guy who voiced Lionel Hutz died a few years ago :(
Report PTW November 10, 2009 11:05 PM GMT
Its because the new episodes dont have a single plot like the old ones, its just a load of randon situations that dont make any sense. The movie was genuis though - should have just stopped there.
Report nelson_muntz November 10, 2009 11:06 PM GMT
didnt he get shot by the wife or ex wife?
Report STUDYFORM November 10, 2009 11:08 PM GMT
They get better when watched a 2nd or 3rd time, for me. I think the recent ones are OK, it must be really difficult coming up with new ideas for storylines, I've often tried to think of something that could be used for a Simpsons episode which hasn't been done already! and I can't (sad I know).

The worst Simpsons were the 1st series imo.
Report Mr Eboue November 10, 2009 11:09 PM GMT
Favourite episodes then lads.....

For me it has to include all the main characters..... All the Simpson family, Burns, Barney etc etc.

I love the comet one where they all hideout in Flanders shed..... Singing que sara when the comet misses :^0

That one would be up there I think.
Report Mr Eboue November 10, 2009 11:10 PM GMT
The modern ones are just excuses to get celebrities involved.
