Shocking to have a go at the bloke over this letter issue.

He has bad handwriting as im sure many of their own readers do.

Pretty poor to give the bloke abuse over this.

If a cold and official letter had been typed and sent he probably would have got stick for that as well

I think its a disgrace a greiving mother would make a nasty story out of a private and personal letter. How dare she reveal the contents to the great unwashed.

I bet her son is proud. When I lost someone I was grateful for any letter anyone bothered to take the time to write.

the sun is becoming a parody of itself.
there might almost be a john seargent/jedward effect here.
they might push the anti-brown line so far, that the british public votes for himself out of sheer bloodymindedness.

The most pathetic thing of all is that the SUN were the strongest supporters of both the Iraq war and action in afghanistan.

they're almost making Brown look good by making ppl feel sorry for him.

Hand writing expert on 5Live explaining that Brown's handwriting was that of a man with poor vision as opposed to a bad speller.

Good to know media are focusing on what really matters.

The people who work for that shambles would probably kill their families if it meant getting some sort of exclusive.

They have no morals whatsoever.

Isn't Gordon Brown blind in eye? If so I think you can forgive him the messy hand writing. At least he personally wrote the letter rather than just add his signature to something his PA might have typed.

copied from another forum ..

She'd better not look on here

http://www.lastingtribute.co.uk/tribute/janes/3162087/Memories

There's someone there who has hastily typed out a tribute to Jamie Janes with hardly any capital letters, has spelt cousin 'couisons', soldiers 'solidiers'

About half way down. I won't put the name of the person who wrote the tribute but needless to say there's some water-boiling equipment being given colour descriptions by pots...

unfortunately he's losing sight in his other eye as well, so it's not just being blind in one eye. apparently most emails sent to him have to be sent in a ridiculously large font (we're talking 25+) so he can read them.

there are so many legitimate things you can attack brown over. this is not one of them. the only people who look bad from this are the sun and the soldier's mother (and she can be forgiven).

You dont half post some utter tosh, his academic record is quite brilliant

Gordon Brown was fast-streamed through the school system, entering Edinburgh University at the age of just 16.

There, five years later, he upset the establishment by becoming elected rector - a post normally reserved for a distinguished public figure.

The saddest part is that the mother felt the need to press speakerphone and record the whole telephone conversation when brown rang her up.

I wouldn't have even thought about doing that unless she was tipped off and goaded by the sun into doing it, feel sure she hasnt done any of that off her own back like she tries to portray.
