Anybody flown with them.

I had an opportunity to pick another airline.

However wanted opinions.

Do they give out a lot of booze?

seats etc?

i don't get all the negative vibes re ba. never had a bad flight myself.

as re hk. just enjoy it. try and go to bars resaurants where the locals go, much more fun than the hotels, and "international" bars
Report 8sid November 10, 2009 8:21 PM GMT
yes I have been for last few days.

TBF im not that bad today but still I thought some places might have had n & F.

I might just take a set out as an emergency lol

was you on economy?

Is seat space decent?

Food and drink?

Also did you do online check in, was the availabilty of extra leg room seats an option free when doing self service check in?
Report pug munter November 10, 2009 8:32 PM GMT
ok cheers PUG

yes we flew economy, there was plenty of leg room. They ply you with a much drink and you need (I would imagine they would put limits on anyone trying to get pi$$ed thou). The food was perfectly reasonalbe for an in flight meal/s. Didnt use the online check in so cant comment on that.
Me and my mum flew out there to visit my brother who lived there for 2 years. Its a fantastic place, I would recommend it to anyone. Happy Valley is amazing, cheap as *****entry fee and a wonderful atmosphere inside.
Also must do's are;
take the peak tram to the summit with views overlooking the harbour
get the Star ferry (at night imo) to Kowloon.
shop in Causeway Bay
visit the Big Buddah statue (on Lantau island)
take the bus to the little village of Stanley on the south of the main island and visit the market... truly amazing.
Enjoy...im jealous...

www.peelfresco.com does jazz etc
visit the pennisula for afternoon tea

jumbo floating restaurant, bit of a gimmick and food is avg
if you like wine try the gecko bar
discount shopping centre at the horizon plaza is worth a trip if you're skint or tight

Everytime ive flown with BA ive noticed the interior to be a bit dated on the planes.

Flew with Cathay last year and it was a brand spanking new plane - food was excellent, an airline I would use again.
Report big-game-player November 11, 2009 1:58 AM GMT
singapore are better than em all i think esp in economy
Report SuperSuperShire November 11, 2009 2:16 AM GMT
Flew with them in 2002 from Amsterdam to Hong Kong, and they were superb (but expensive)
Report mittheimp November 11, 2009 4:10 AM GMT
flown with BA on a long haul a few times and despite having old haggered flight attendents, are the best ive flown with. Very good food, inflight entertainment is excellent and service is good.

Cathay Pacific are also quite good and of course, like all asian airlines, have hot air stewardesses.

yes heard about penisula, i was gonna stay there.

Still opted for a 5* star hotel though, but every room is over looking victoria harbour.

Im deffo doing penisula for tea, and also mean one evening.

Im taking my suit out there, Happy valley has a cracking deal, for 60 quid you get entry inyo decent part of RC and can get drink all you want.

Cheers for all your advice. have to admit im looking forward to this trip :-)

OK cheers mate.

I have flown with BA about 6 times now, so 3 return trips. one outward journey was good due to the seats given.

Every other journey has been very bad.

never again.

Cathay seems alright :-)
Report Arsene November 11, 2009 10:38 AM GMT
Went with Cathay to New Zealand and thought they were very good.
