Can't remember the name but there was a game where two players each had an aeroplane at either end of a pitch. Each aeroplane (world war 1 type) could move sideways, or turn a bit, and they fired ball bearings at supports under the other one - the aim was to knock the supports away to crash your opponent's aeroplane.

I fking loved it, but my best mate and I managed to break it in less than a month by being a bit "enthusiastic" in trying to move the planes from side to side to dodge the ballbearings.

I had a football game called Jimmy. It was so so simple but I loved it....then I upgraded to Subbuteo which I loved.

I also had a 4 foot x 2 foot snooker table, where you could pot up the cushions and drop them in the middle bag! I used to help Mum clear the dinner table on a Friday night and then put my table on top of it and try to get away with it being up all day Saturday too!

Happy days indeed!

SHOOT
A football game played with Tiddlywinks, 2 Lead GKs on wires , and proper goal nets.
About 10 of us had our own Home pitches in our Homes .
MIne was a large pitch drawn on my mothers table underfelt .
This was about an inch thick, made of hair or something with a brown leather type covering .It kept the Heat from reaching the walnut dining table ,and you put a tablecloth over the top .We obv took the cloth of to play and my pitch was there drawn on the underfelt.
Beauty was , because it "sunk in" you could lob , swerve, and do all sorts to the ball "tiddlywink", it gave me an advantage ..But of course others home pitches had their quirks when you played away . A rock hard board meant shots never took off , so if you were adept with the goalie you never let any goals in .
We had a League . Prob played for around 5 years into early teens.
We had an FA Cup comp , played on one night in my house , coz of the space, as 16 used to pile in on Cup nights, including me old fella, who played in the Cup Comps.
One guys Dad made him an oversize goalie to assist him , but it was banned ... :D :D

My first toy was a crossbow.

Me and my kid brother used to play William Tell, and just like on the television, I used to put an apple on his head.

If he had kept still he'd be..............55 now

Can't belive how crappp subbuteo was. Only ever fun when you scored from your own box with an illegal proper flick. The type used to remove a bogey using thumb and forefinger, none of that official scrail your nail on the blanket lightweight rhubarb.
