Best advice I can give you mate
Go outside, light up a cigarette and chill out.
I'm glad to say I am a smoker and don't get myself all worked up about others smoking.
Smoking is still legal for all your arguments.

Run out of pseudo-scientific daily reports he keeps sticking into his lil' scrapbook.
better advice would be:
- to take a course on risk.
- understand magnitude.
- form your own opinions based upon the balance of reasoning and all sides of the debate
- occasionally think about the unfortunate fact that our scientists are often funded by industry and or a government that has vested interests, and remember this when drawing final conclusions.
- buy a different newspaper at least twice per week
- ditto radio stations etc
