can you imagine what the tourists think as they try to make their way to Luton Airport?

Rail line hit by driver shortage

The Sunday service on an entire rail route into London's Kings Cross has been cancelled because there are not enough drivers to operate the trains.

First Capital Connect, which runs the Great Northern service, said not enough staff had volunteered to work overtime.

these are semi-privatised companies that make huge profits, but don't pump anything back because they are a virtual monpoly. Nothing to do with lack of money, but a lack of legislation

My experience of trains in this country, generally:

1. they run on time
2. they are reasonably quick
3. they are expensive if you turn up and buy a ticket
4. they are cheap if you book ahead

Trains need to be cheaper and more effiecient if we're going to get people out of their cars to be honest

4 things i've noticed about far too many whinging pommes....

1. they moan about paying too much tax
2. they moan about public services
3. they moan and moan and moan
4. they moan.

Anyone under 80 yrs of age in this country has not been conscripted, has seen a rise in standard of living and medicine and working conditions etc etc. more disposable income, foreign holidays cheaper, all sorts of technological advances etc etc

still they carry on fkin moaning.

moaning whinging moaning poms. England's alright imo.

Why don't they get the bus drivers currently ferrying everyone around to drive the trains.

Train driving=Turn knob on and off.
Bus driving.= actually responding to road conditions and driving

Ill informed you are speedypro.
Train driving is not just about turning a knob on and off.
Train drivers have an extensive rule book that they must comply with.I assume you did know that there are rules and regulations concerning signals, points, indicators etc that they need to understand and obey.
