I put my house up for sale two and a half years ago,I thought it was sold after a couple of months, and got the asking price, only to be told a couple of months later ,the basta rd did not want it.
Its been up for sale since,I sold it yesterday for £40k less than the original sale.

I'm disappointed to be still paying 2 lots of Council tax, 2 lots of Utility Bills , and having to waste tiime cutting 2 sets of Lawns and hedges and maintaining 2 houses ..
count your blessings ...

almost the same as you, we sold in August after nearly two years on the market,
a couple of times thought we had sold it, once some old dear was going to buy it, we even signed the contract,
(but solicitors hadn't exchanged)......and right at the last min. she pulled out,
claimed she found the process too stressful and her husband died just over a year ago.........
and she wasn't sure if she should move nearer her daughter etc. etc.

We went on the market for £225,000 (although we did think the agent may have gone a bit too high),
because in a falling market you need to be one step ahead and not one step behind -
and we were always chasing the market.

We ended up selling it for £179,200. Almost the same price drop as you,
we were just unlucky to hit this downturn in the market.
