No. There's only one potential superstar in this race, GdC. It can't be better than Kauto v Denman (v Long Run) or Arkle v Mill House. And many horses crop up more than once in your list (though you seem to have missed the 2022 RSA winner). But it is of course gratifying to see a deep field in the great race.

looks a very  good renewal and the fav takes a big chunk out the market may well win it again but too short for me ,i would rather have a few against it at bigger prices ew have backed  bravemans and gentlemens games at 25s and 40s both with a fair bit to find but not that much and anything can happen . bravemans not a lot  to find on punchestown form last season with the fav and fastorslow looks fair value to me.

Thanks for the post.  Certainly looks an ultra competitive and very exciting race race this year.  Galopin, Bravemans and Gentlemans to fill the first three spots for me.  Fascinating sideshow is Monkfish.

No outstanding candidate including the reigning champion Galopin Des Champs. He's been beaten on two occasions since winning last year's renewal; the opposition apart from Shishkin is no great shakes. And, Shishkin (if winning) might be too old for next year.

The rest very most unlikely to be a star in the future imvho.

That;s fair enough.  I think he excels over this extended trip and is a very worthy favourite..  And for me, it is starring on the day that is the point.

I think it’s a decent race, the Irish fav MIGHT turn out to be very very good but for me he’s not hit the dizzy heights yet that some folk seem to think he has

Last year A PLUS TARD shouldn’t have run, BRAVEMANSGAME, PROTEKTORAT do they really stay 3 miles 2 furlongs which includes a finish up the Cheltenham hill ? And what have they achieved this season?

I’m on SHISKIN each way at 10/1, I’d sooner that than odds on the favourite

All the best
