It is a big advantage if a horse has several entries but once it is clear which race a horse is targetted at, you only have the risk of injury or illness to cover in an ant post bet. I only bet ante post when I think I have a very high chance of laying off shorter. My only lay bet is El Fabiolo which now looks the wrong decision. Laying anything below 6/4 before Xmas is a good strategy in most years but he was the only candidate this year apart from CH and I was not going to lay that because nothing of any note is entered against it. Should be 1/6 NRNB.

Billie is offering double the odds (epic boost) including nrnb for £5 max every week eg 8/1 --> 16/1. I think this is a play if backing non-fav or with/out fav at Cheltenham.

Quite a few firms offering NRNB now. Some truly horrific prices as normal but odd bit of value if you look hard enough. Billy’s Gaelic Warrior 3/1 NRNB for Ryanair didn’t last long. Also some more than generous prices in some of the handicaps for a change.

I need inspiration. Even this concession has not enticed me to bet. The debacle with 'ladcrooks' is still fresh and rankles in the background big time. However,  I might succumb to Ballyburn (Stayers), but his connections are a massive put-off; its price of 10 nrnb against 20/1 here is another put-off.

Keep going Imp. There is plenty of value in the handicaps NRNB.

Handicaps are treacherous for me. They are beyond my ability. I might do a 4/5 horse multiples over the period.

I'd consider a "winner" if Fact to File is Ryanair bound, and Gaelic Warrior is in the Blue Riband race,
