After race at Galway Tue, 8th Sep, 2020 (1st) It’s a great relief to have that over, particularly to see her do it on heavy ground. We would have had a sporadic good horse but injury intervened with so many of them. This one has delivered every time and it shows, though few and far between, that a small stable can compete at this level. She’s owned by a great old friend in Paddy (Kehoe) with his sister Philomena (Crampton) and they are purely racing people so other considerations don’t come into it. Cheltenham is still to the forefront of their minds but in the shorter term we’ll have to have discussions as regards the Cesarewitch and the Cadran. Joey couldn’t use his allowance here, but his claim would negate a penalty in the Cesarewitch. Anthony Mullins
After race at Galway Sat, 1st Aug, 2020 (1st) We’re thinking of the Cesarewitch at Newmarket but we’re also now going to have to consider the Prix du Cadran. Anthony Mullins
After race at Galway Mon, 27th Jul, 2020 (1st) Bernard Cullinane found her for us in Germany but when I saw where she was for sale, with the flights being so difficult, I decided not to go that journey and very luckily I didn't go because I know if I went I wouldn't have bought her. When she arrived home she had quite crooked legs and I know if I went to Germany I wouldn't have bought her. Thanks be to God I bought her on the phone and when she arrived I couldn't do anything about it. But the first day I worked her I knew we were ok. I know Paddy (Kehoe, owner) forty years and we've had great luck together. The few we've bought over the years, nearly ever one won. We are now thinking of the English Cesarewitch and we might also think about a bit of black-type as she has a good pedigree. She is entered on Saturday and is a good filly and I want to go right by her. Paddy (Kehoe) already has her backed for the mares' novice hurdle at Cheltenham so I suppose she'll be schooled. To win a feature race at Galway is like a Cheltenham winner to me or having one at Royal Ascot. With the type of horse I have, it is the best I can aspire to win and we have won a few features over the years. Anthony Mullins
After race at Curragh Sat, 18th Jul, 2020 (1st) She was unlucky in Navan, she came from a long way back and then got interfered with half way up the straight,. It just ruined the plan then but maybe it was a help in winning today. Hopefully she'll go on now to Galway for the amateur race, if she pulls out enough and I think she will. I'd love to get Jody again but I'd say I'd be lucky with the numbers Willie has in it. It was great to get her today. The weights come out Monday for Galway and I'd need whatever she gets for winning there to get in. Anthony Mullins
She's definitely an interesting one, but her extreme lack of hurdling experience has to be a concern. And, as we know, top flat form does not always translate to hurdling ability. "Would have to give the others two stone on the flat" is also a paper tiger, because she's far, far more exposed than the others. On the other hand, the new course should counteract her hurdling inexperience somewhat with only two hurdles in the last 3/4 mile.
The markets here suggest shell run in the mares novice rather than the AB, but surely she'll be better over 3 m over hurdles?
She adds interest to whichever race she runs in.
I'd love to have seen Big Buck's run in an Ascot Gold Cup.
