Hardest race of the week and we get "GAELIC WARRIOR", apart from Willies mob screaming about this horse has anyone on here been inclined to back it ?
At 11\4 favourite I cannot for the life of me see any reason to back it. Three runs at Auteil , two on soft or heavy doesnt exactly stand out. Surely its the lay of the week isnt it.? All the stats are against it, the horse has never run at the course, never won over the distance, it has been bought by Ricci and wouldnt be the first of his to go South. Its like a mystery horse but if there is one person who could train a horse to win first time out in UK at the Cheltenham Festival its Willie.
Another "mystery" horse can be found in the same race is BELLE EX ONE . The horse won at Punchestown and then was taken away to paul nichols . Trainer had no clue ...
Bell Ex One built upon a 3yo hurdle victory in Listowel where he had Calvados seven lengths back in third. Trainer Ray Cody said: “I say the ground was as quick as he wants it and he was going as quick as he wanted all the way.
“Jack just loves him and says he's a proper horse. He said his jumping was electric today, he was shortening and going long when he wanted him to. He said he was a different horse completely.I'd say slower ground will be a big help to him. They went a good gallop but he was happy with him the whole way, he said even at the last he was long but he came for him.He said he was doing nothing in front from the last home, only idling. I'm delighted.
“If he won today the plan was to either go to Cheltenham for the November meeting or else go to Fairyhouse at the end of November.I think I might go to Cheltenham, if he's really good in the meantime, for the juvenile hurdle there. I think he'd love it around there. He just eats and sleeps and comes out of his races brilliant so we might go there, we'll see how he is. I think he's the best three-year-old so far anyway, so I'm delighted with him.”
Owner obviously thinks Nichols s a better trainer !
The horse however is half decent but given nichols record with stormy island I would not be inclined to put a penny on it ...then there's Briony !

Saw it win at galway here is what the trainer said ......
After race at Galway Sun, 1st Aug, 2021 (1st) As Ben said he'll never win by far. When he gets there he just does enough and pulls himself up. He's always been like that and you don't want to be getting there too soon with him. We're lucky we got the right verdict and I'm delighted as it was very close. I thought he ran very well here on Monday when he was sixth (to Citronnade) in a higher grade. I thought with this lower grade and getting the allowance for being a three-year-old he would be very competitive. Around here you need luck and I thought Ben was very good, he's a brilliant rider. Long-term his future is over hurdles, he'll be twice the horse over hurdles, but I'm in no panic to go hurdling with him. When the ground gets a bit softer it'll suit him a lot better, that ground is as quick as he wants it. I'll have great fun with him, he's a fine big horse. We'll tip away on the Flat for the time being and he'll go hurdling later in the year. R P Cody

He's a Willie Mullins horse around a stone well in at the very least. Look at the exploits of the horses he's finished behind in his last two runs in France, the form is top class. Watch him hurdle.... looks a natural to me. Its daft to call a certainty in a race like this, but I think he is one of the best handicapped horses Willie will ever send to the Festival. That alone, makes him a bet.
I certainly wouldn't want to be a layer.

Not sure about the form . I always thought auteuil was a flat course with long straights and tight bends , how does that form hold up at Cheltenham. Wouldnt be in a rush personally.

He could be ten stone well in but if he cant jump on a corrugated roof course at pace hes going to be well beat. Also that french horse mentioned above was 8 years ago , it had won two hurdle races over there (decent winner at least) ......and this thing aint won a race ?

My system if you can call it that was always to back the Aga Khan bred runner or runners. This year that is Ebasari. In the very early years I helped myself to 33/1 about an Aga Khan 4yo owned by Alan Shearer and trained by Howard Johnson that romped home. Can't find the name now. Dabiroun and Shamayoun also won in the early years but none since.

I did a lot of research on this horse earlier this week. The French trainer also trained Vautour and Laurina before they done well for Willie. The previous trainer has a 19% strikerate so not much chance of improvement like most French purchases who seem to come from trainers with less than 10% strikerate. His trained loads of horses that go on and do good things like Silviniaci conti and sceau royal.
The horse is from the same sire as other Cheltenham festival juveniles winners Quilixios and Aramax, Mullins also trains tax for max from the same sire who always struggles to settle and pulls to hard. The form has been franked all over the place.
With all of this information and I’m still not backing it and can’t get away from the Elliott 2nd fav.

Wtf was willie at ? The horse jumped right all the way round and was struggling in the ground. Some horse a stone well in ,must have given away ten lengths and gets done a head.
Great lay but BELLEX 28\1 e w was a better bet
