These handicaps have favs normally going off as short as 7/2, so if I can put up something bigger than the bookies 20/1, then it’s value, and that includes if it does, or does not turn up!
Cheers, any idea when the initial stage is? These handicaps have favs normally going off as short as 7/2, so if I can put up something bigger than the bookies 20/1, then it’s value, and that includes if it does, or does not turn up!
Barnes, the entry stage for the handicaps is Tuesday 22nd February.
Going by previous years, this means that they would be published on Thursday 24th February, however they were quicker off the mark this year with Gold Cup, Champion Chase, and Ryanair. They published them same day this year, whereas they used to wait 24/48 hours in previous years

Another added bonus of betting on the exchange is that if a horse with a low mark is ballotted out, all bets on it are voided, thus getting your money back! I think layers can sometimes forget that when offering fancy prices antepost.

22nd February is the same day as the Derby entries close and are announced. That will create problems for the papers.

Pete ..... Fabs post above sounds about right, around 48 hrs before released.
Still done by hand no doubt,36 hours for Mullins,12 hours the rest.
Even that though is useless,no marks will be given to the Irish horses from memory.
Mystic Meg is then employed for 5 days trying to guess ratings above their official marks at home.
It can only happen in racing, fiasco really.
