I've been seeeething quite a bit lately about not being able to have a few E/W multiples at Cheltenham as the disgusting, cowardly bookmakers have obviously colluded and decided they're gonna rape the gambling public in going 1/5 odds until the end of time - something I witnessed last year for the first time in over 40 years of gambling.
Unfortunately, as expected it's 1/5 odds across the board on Oddschecker - a thoroughly ugly sight but not that unexpected as they've been turning the screw in removing small concessions for the last couple of years.
Are they expecting us to believe that's an amazing coincidence that they all came to the same conclusion independently at the same time or are they admitting that they've had a conference? If the latter, then that's an illegal cartel.
Trouble is...NOBODY is asking the question and that's the way it'll stay as either they're all paid off or it's a sacking offence. There's not a peep from our guardians/punters' pals (Chapman et al) and the usual shills in the racing media.
However...I am the bearer of good news for anyone who likes an E/W multiple without the rear-end trauma of 1/5 odds. I thought I'd time-travel back to the 90's as I did last year and go to a local bookies shop which is fair enough to go 1/4 all races. Due to Coronaballs the shops aren't open yet so I decided to have a browse online for a telephone service offering 1/4 odds and voila!
I found Joe Jennings and they've been established since the 60's and are reputable as far as I'm aware - does anyone use their services? I'll be making a few calls to them 08085 521 421 & 01279 625 900 - I'd be interested if anyone is aware of any others as then I can haggle for the most concessions
