you get the place terms as of when you place the bet so if goes to 3 runners you are on a winner ! yes this is true but if you use shops be carefull ,their tills register the day of the race when you hand your slip over ,a good few years back i backed menorah for the arke ante post loads of runners but day of race only 6 or 7 runners lined up menorah finished 3rd but shop didnt pay out as till said 2 places only had to go back a few days and get the manager to phone up then got paid out .

Foyleswar's experience mirrored mined up to the point where he went back and got paid! Ouch!
That's why I was wondering is it written down anywhere!

had another dispute on an each way bet in a billies backed st marks basilica for the dewhurst at 12s a few days before the race ,when i handed the slip over the cashier paid me out but i got distracted and didnt watch her counting the notes ,walked out the shop and counted my dosh and by my reconing it was £60 short ,went back in and told her and she looked at the counterfoil and said i paid you what the till told me to , paid me the £60 after a few mins ,she settled it herself wernt her fault ,somehow the till got it wrong so be carefull!

The only advice I would offer as have had a couple of issues down the years but just write on the front of the slip the ew terms and you will never have a problem

You're one smart@rse,just trying to help, sure you could write whatever you want on the slip but when they check the archive that will tell the correct price, place terms when bet was struck. We could just not write or take foties and just ask them to check the archive as they all have it and it doesn't lie. Hope you don't come across some Irish good things that couldn't possibly win, wouldn't want you having a breakdown. You sound unstable enough as it is.

Bentring people are having problems with their bets. I’ve had the same issues and have told them what to do to eradicate the problem as it works, yet you’re on to say to take pictures from a load of screens which is completely unnecessary
Now you’re saying about archives, yet when a punter places a bet in any betting shop for any race, the cashier has to look the price up in order to give you a price and puts that on you’re betting slip, so as long as you put the ew terms and actual race, you will never have a problem. Also from a man who clearly spends a lot of time in betting shops, either that or you’ve never been in one, you will also know most Cheltenham races aren’t even on a screen in the shop, so that’s bollox as well
Probably am unstable I agree and nice of you to put a cheap shot in,
I look forward to you’re insight, we’ve had the betting shop insight, hopefully we get the form book one now. No doubt scripted off of one of the bookmakers podcasts that are getting reeled out on a daily basis, that insight is invaluable to any punter

the problem is if you take a photo or write the ante post odds terms on the slip ,when you present your slip the till for some reason seems to kick back into day of race and if its 7 runners or less thats what they will pay you out (unless they have rectified the problem by now ) and its little use trying to explain to the cashier who 9times out of 10 knows fook all about betting and will just shrug thier shoulders and say computer says no . youb wil get paid after going through the red tape and phone calls to head office but its aggro you could do without .

Read the post again, photo and screen both singular,I've been pulled on my grammar earlier. You say write on slip but cell phone photo will help you explain as it will be dated. As for clerks well cant help you with that one,and no don't frequent bookies but your thread on Mick winters horse makes me think you do,buts that's not here nor there. I didn't mean to be smart when I said take a photo just explaining anyone can write what they like on a slip ,(after placement)but you tried to ridicule me,so I added the archive part so no matter how dumb the clerk is go to another office and find one on same wavelength as you.

What’s mick winters and me frequenting betting shops got to do with the doping problem with Irish racehorses?
Yes I do believe doping is rife in Irish race horses and I’ve been studying form for over 25 years and am allowed that opinion when I see horses performance on another stratosphere to what they have achieved previously...their are also plenty here in England with the magic potion that gives horses extra speed and stamina
I do frequent betting shops as it’s the only way to get money on unless you’ve got multiple family accounts, which I don’t
if a punter can fill a betting slip out properly he won’t have a problem, if getting the cashier to check it and sign it...I know that because that is what I ask for and that is what I get and don’t have a problem with the circumstances foyles refers to, hence why I gave some advice
And I am ridiculing you because you’ve picked an argument that you know nothing about and are talking nonsense
Anyway good luck

i have found that till reciept for that dewhurst bet it was £20 each way at 12/1 and they paid me £280 and looking at it again they paid me for the win part of the bet but gave my stake back on the place part , just saying those tils are not foolproof so check yer money at the counter .

Young horse foyles clearly improved with another year on his back...I actually had him running fast at sandown last year and kempton probably less of a test than sandown...certainly improved but whether he is a flat track horse I’m not sure
Like I’ve said in the doping thread I don’t believe all horses who improve to be doping, it’s just racing has a problem with it and it needs addressing...some people will say their is nothing to be seen but I hate it as results just don’t make sense and it’s cheating
People will realise more when they are buying fraudulent bloodstock from bloodlines that have been pumped full of the good stuff and they can’t understand why their horse has no ability
Looking forward to seeing Chatham today should win easy...I’ve got no doubts the authorities are trying to deal with these cheats and that will bare out in results but that won’t help punters who won’t understand a horse performing like a pig
I’d just love them all to be brought to justice just like Lance Armstrong was because it’s on a mass scale imo
Anyway enjoy you’re day foyles
