ok the dust is starting to settle and the general consensus is that the race fell apart and that it was a poor champion chase this year ,a lot of ifs  buts  maybes but the best horse won on the day  and  looking through the field in the ante post list it could be more of the same next year .
lets look at what is likely to actually line up in the race ....we will start with altior he will be an 11 yo and is he the same horse after that titanic battle with  cyrname ? i think he may be stepped up in trip and go for the ryanaire whatever he has questions to answer now , fav is chacan su pour ,undoubtably talented but as fragile as a box of eggs ,around 6/1 i dont think i would take that for him to make the race ,defi du seul ,another more likely to step up in trip ,fakir d,oudaries  also looks to me to need further dynamite dollars also may be better over further ,the arkle  winner put the kettle on is interesting and a decent price at around 20s  she gets the 7 pound allowance if going here and is a good jumper and game the course form is a big plus . the one who really appeals and who i have been backing since last wednesday is  reigning champ politologue at a stonking 20s  on here .
certain to be targeted for the race been there done it gave altior a race last year but seemingly ignored for next years race, not by me though a brilliant jumper of a fence and nicholls has found the key to him "mad fresh" and jump off in front and catch me if you can, maybe not the sexy profile of something like chacan su pour, but a consistent performer at the top table and i can see this race cutting up dramatically like this years version come raceday .
no harm having a few at decent prices and put the kettle on also appeals at 20/1 likely to line up here , we dont know how the arkle form will stack up  but at 20s on here and shops  shes worth a pop imo
selections ..2021 champion chase ..politologue 20/1 on here 1 point win ..........put the kettle on 20/1 1 point win ............opinions encouraged, fire away.

Yes Foyles, both Nube and First Flow are both on the rise and now boast 165/166 ratings but look like could nudge closer to the magic 170+ needed to win the majority of Champion chases. CPS 174 to me looks the real deal and add in Altior and Politologue both around 170 and you have got yourself a race.
Rouge Vif seemed to improve considerably first time up when bolting in off 156 on good ground and is now 163. He’s the best long shot @25/1 if the ground isn’t too bad.
The others Greenateen 161 Pull the other one 154 and Fakir D 161 need to find a stone from somewhere and should perhaps turn their attention to the handicaps.

"Henderson fined and banned for three months
Nicky Henderson has been fined £40,000 and is unable to make entries for three months over the Moonlit Path case.

The leading National Hunt trainer was last Monday found guilty of using a prohibited substance to improve the performance of The Queen's mare at Huntingdon in February.

Henderson attended a personal hearing on Thursday evening, when pleas of mitigation were entered to a British Horseracing Authority panel, and learned of his punishment on Friday morning.

The 58-year-old handler faced a possible disqualification from the training ranks, but will instead be unable to run any of his horses from July 11 to October 10.

He has also been hit with a record fine imposed on any British trainer.

Moonlit Path finished sixth in the TurfTV Mares' Novices' Hurdle on February 19, after which she tested positive for tranexamic acid, an anti-bleeding drug, which contravened BHA Rule 200.

The race was won by stablemate Ravello Bay. "

I was not that impressed with the race to be honest. Altior was nothing like the horse he has been and i cannot sadly see him ever getting back now, hope I am wrong.
Shishkin would have P1ssed that race had he been in it I feel.
The one I would be on each way if ground was good/soft or better would be Rouge Vic, he hated that ground.
Nube Negra may run a good race if ground is soft , but I don’t think the Kempton race was ChampionnChase class.
However, after all that, take the fav out it’s wide open, and I don’t think he’s as solid as his price suggests.

I would supplement Allmankind for this one as I think the Arkle is the tougher option of the two. It wouldn’t matter to Allmankind which race he is in. The uncomplicated tactics and his race time would be the same. If the Skeltons stick with Nube Negra as sole contender in the QM I’d back that one at the prices as I don’t think CPS jumping will be good around Cheltenham, though I don’t envisage him toiling up the hill.

Lets look through the top 6 in the betting

Chacun... has best form this year, very fragile, unproven on the track, big long striding horse might not be suited to the undulations or tight turning old course at Cheltenham

Altior.... Taking a huge leap of faith that he has retained his ability. Well beaten last time out by a horse who was stuffed by average novices last year. Was off the bridle after 2 fences. Surely it will all be happening too quick for him at 11. May run on into 3rd

Nube Negro... Beaten by Esprit du Large and Rouge Vif as a novice, both have been shown up as average. Beat an old Altior last time and a few more that ran well below form. Skelton was skipping Cheltenham last year as the track didnt suit, now he has no worries about it??

First Flow.... give him heavy ground and a right handed track and you could consider him. Maybe a tingle creek type, could end up in the guinness village here.

Politalogue... an admirable horse but just shy of top class. Won a well below par renewal last year and a weaker tingle creek. PTKO ran a faster time in the arkle last year on slower ground, says it all.

Put the kettle on.... Cheltenham specialist, everything in her favour here. Put in her place by Chacun last time out, even though she got a funny ride, she has a lot of ground to make up on Chacun. Should hit the frame

"I’m calling a truce if you agree"

You contradict yourself regularly as the above post show, so cant be trusted.

You stop telling lies no problem keep saying things about people ....

.... for which you have ZERO evidence thats called telling lies.

As you started trolling me AGAIN immediately after that post am I not allowed to respond ?
Is it that your rules of trolling mean “victims” can’t respond and must accept your vile filth you post ?

You have shown what an unsavoury person you are in your many posts over Gordon Elliott affair and racist anti British establishment posts.
To add to that I caught you lying yesterday which you did a very poor job in trying to deflect.

I take it you want to continue your troll of me ? I’m sure the rest of the posters would prefer you concentrated on the horses.

Been underwhelmed by the favourite , he may be a champion .....but has to show it.
Altior , looks very , very hard work now ......QM winners don't usually look that way.
Nuba Negra- has to back up his win ......and if Altior has gone at the game , it night not have taken much winning.

A very average renewal.
Report FOYLESWAR March 10, 2021 8:01 PM GMT
you could be right regarding altior gone at the game ,a lot of pundits also think he has regressed , but looking at it another way, what if he has not regressed that much and was simply  put in his place by a vastly improved younger  horse , i have taken the view that he was and took the 12/1 each way a while back for what is my biggest bet of the festival ,very rarely do you see a graded race won barring a fall 3 out and that was what the skelton horse did ,may  have been a fluke or altior has indeed gone and i may  have got this completly wrong ,often do and will pay through my pocket if i have  but happy with the bet atm.

Agree six, there is often a dodgy one, you never really know, new mill s race was only won on the ground, dodging bullets beating somersby jesus, and last years very poor.

Champion Chase and the Arkle are regularly the losers of the 4 day festival., especially when it comes to field size. Next year’s CC I hope will be different looking at the novices. I’ll be putting the kettle on this year.
Report FOYLESWAR March 10, 2021 10:36 PM GMT
we have the previous winners of 3 champion chases 2 or 3 tingle creeks untold grade 1 & 2 winners 2 arkle winners ,its a top  renewal

You’ll be trying to sell the Mares Chase next....

I suppose a race fit Altior without so many question marks makes it interesting but I can’t see him in the first three.

Paul Nolan's Grade 1 winning hurdler Latest Exhibition is set to bypass Cheltenham as the trainer opts instead to target the Fairyhouse Easter Festival with his luckless gelding.

The eight year old has won five and finished second six times in his 11 race career and has chased home Willie Mullins' Monkfish on each of his last two runs at Leopardstown.

Nolan has indicated that Latest Exhibition will now avoid another clash with that star novice and says “Latest Exhibition is unlikely to go to Cheltenham unless a few come out for whatever reason.

“I’d say we’ll go to Fairyhouse with him for either the Grade 1 (Underwriting Exchange Gold Cup Novice Chase) or the Irish National.”

Nolan will still be represented at Cheltenham however and adds “Mrs Milner will go for the Pertemps Final. She was second at Cheltenham (in November) and the English handicapper gave her 4lb but our handicapper gave her 8lb.”

“She was fourth in the Qualifier at Leopardstown’s Christmas meeting

“She did a bit of work the other day and went well so she will definitely run.”
